After her heartwarming reunion with her beloved grandma and stepsister, Ponggay (Maris Racal) received another unexpected visitor—Vice Mayor Roberto Guerrero (Albert Martinez). While she was delighted to see Lola Florie (Perla Bautista) and Dimples (Criza Taa), Ponggay instantly got upset upon learning that the next person who wanted to personally see and speak with her was the man behind her late father’s death.
As she questioned the purpose of his visit, Roberto confronted her about her alleged connivance with Tanggol (Coco Martin) and the numerous times she supposedly helped him and his group, which Ponggay firmly denied. He reminded her of the gravity of her actions, warning her that she could be charged with obstruction of justice, being an accessory to crime, grave misconduct, dishonesty, and serious neglect of duty. Thus, there’s a possibility for her to permanently lose her position and face a long prison sentence.
Ponggay insisted that her conscience is clear and that she only did what she believed was right. Roberto offered her help—either by having her sentence reduced or by ordering her not to be stripped of her position and get imprisoned—on the condition that she would cooperate with them for Tanggol to be finally captured.
The offer he laid out to her might be tempting, but Ponggay refused it and told him that she already knew his tactic. As Roberto acted oblivious about what she was pertaining to, Ponggay started to get emotional as she reminded him of his broken promise to her father, Mauro (Richard Quan), back when Mauro served as his bagman many years ago.
With Roberto taking the matter lightly, Ponggay recounted to him how Mauro suffered in prison after he allowed him to be incarcerated and neglected him afterwards. As if that wasn’t painful enough, the corrupt politician claimed that whatever happened to Mauro was entirely his own fault and he had nothing to do with it. He even denied his involvement in his case and dismissed the accusations Mauro made against him, which the former policeman was able to relay to Ponggay before he was killed during an encounter, which was ordered by Roberto through the Red Phoenix group.
Instead of backing down, Ponggay stood firm, for she was determined to attain justice for her father’s death, and threatened Roberto to expose all his and his family’s crimes and dirty secrets. This prompted Roberto to tell her that she was just wasting her life because she had no idea who she was dealing with.
Roberto went on to gaslight her, telling her that the reason why she’s still alive and gets to speak with him is because her fate lies in his hands. He even tried to intimidate her further by saying that he could have her killed without any trace, so he advised her to thoroughly mull over her decision not to cooperate with the authorities for Tanggol's capture. Unfortunately for Roberto, Ponggay still didn’t flinch since she was totally resolved to seek justice for Mauro’s demise and make Roberto pay for it.
