It’s true that 'Laro Laro Pick' on "It’s Showtime" has become one of the feel-good highlights of our noontime viewing. Every round, we get to hear inspiring real-life stories from ordinary Filipinos—stories that revive our faith in humanity, and sometimes, even bring us to tears.
But, of course, there's bound to be comedy on the game arena, especially when there's Vice Ganda. That’s part of the magic. Meme Vice just has this effortless way of connecting with contestants—from Gen Zs to seniors—that she knows how to make people bring out their 'kulit' side.
For your daily dose of good vibes, let’s rewatch some of Meme’s most hilarious moments with the 'Laro Laro Pick' players via this Kapamilya Update video compilation. Because when the Unkabogable Superstar is the one throwing the punchlines, you know it’s going to be legendary.
Kicking off the list is that random moment when it suddenly felt like we were transported to an episode of 'EXpecially For You,' the former segment on “It’s Showtime" featuring ex-lovers. During an episode with 'Makatizens,’ exes Maica and Jeff crossed paths in the game arena. "Sa isa na namang episode ng 'EXpecially For You,' pag-uusapan natin kung ano ang mga dahilan ng pagtatagpo ng dalawang tao at ano rin ang dahilan ng pagkabasag ng pag-iibigang ito," said Vice, facing the camera, as her co-hosts burst out laughing in the background.
Maica and Jeff went on to share how they met and why they eventually parted ways. Destiny sure has sense of humor because Maica's current boyfriend, AJ, was also present in the studio. The whole interview portion got even funnier with the dramatic heartbreak song playing in the background, plus Vice’s intriguing questions, like when she asked Jeff what he felt now that Maica had moved on to a happy relationship. Still, everyone kept it classy and respectful, especially Jeff, who showed support for the woman he once loved.
When some residents from Caloocan were invited to play, Vice had the funniest interaction with Baby, a solo parent who sells hygiene products. The two were clearly on 'different wavelengths,' prompting Vice to jokingly comment on the common ‘comprehension problem’ among Filipinos. She compared it to a typical social media scenario, where netizens argue in the comment section simply because they misunderstood the post, "Parang, ‘Vice Ganda, uminom ng kape.’ [Tapos may magko-comment], ‘Grabe naman si Vice Ganda uminom ng gatas.’ Huh? Binasa mo ba?"
Vice tried three times to make Baby understand that there’s no shame in being a vendor, but Baby just couldn’t catch the point. Vice, overwhelmed by the misunderstanding, jokingly fainted from all the stress.
Vice also had a hilarious déjà vu moment with player Vhec, whom she claimed looked exactly like the woman who uploaded a video of her at the airport. In the recently viral clip, the 'uploader' appeared to chase after Vice but seemed to forget her name. "Ganito ang mukha no'n!" was her funny reaction when she saw Vhec, as she went on to share her side of the viral moment. She said she was sure the woman knew exactly who she was because she heard the woman say her name. "Nakita ko siya na nakita niya ako. ‘Ay! Si Vice Ganda!’ tapos vinideo ako. Ang layo ng nilakad niya girl ah,” she recounted. Vice wrapped up the story by teasing Vhec, as she didn't want to spill the full details to avoid triggering any bashing toward the uploader.
Security officers also played on 'Laro Laro Pick' and proved they could keep up with Vice’s humor. In the name of comedy, Vice came up with a skit and role-played as a 'pasaway' or troublesome clubgoer, prompting bouncer Dodong to step in. Since Vice was too 'difficult' to deal with, Dodong literally picked up Vice and carried her out. Meme Vice jokingly protested, "Ako ang may-ari ng club!" But Dodong replied that he was just following protocol. Rules are rules, even if the club owner’s extra fabulous!
Even Meme herself laughed at a random quote she blurted out in another episode. While encouraging player Ten-Ten to find happiness through her hands, Vice got unintentionally deep. "Napakaraming pwedneg gawin ng kamay. Sa pamamagitan ng pagtulong pwede kang sumaya. Sa pamamagitan ng pagtatanim ng bulaklak, pwede kang sumaya. Sa pamamagitan ng kamay pwede kang magluto," she said. "Because a happy stomach is a happy person." Then she paused, laughed at herself, and asked, "Saan galing 'yung quotable quote na 'yon?!"
Need a pick-me-up? You know where to go—Meme Vice will always have a punchline on the game arena. Catch 'Laro Laro Pick' on "It's Showtime," airing Mondays to Saturdays, 12 NN, on Kapamilya Channel, GMA 7, ALLTV, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL) and iWant.
