Since Dia Mate’s icon for this round of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” American singer-rapper Doja Cat, is known for her larger-than-life and unhinged personality, which has turned some of her media moments into viral memes and her to be dubbed as a “meme queen,” the “YFSF” team poked fun at the celebrity performers by showing a few of their memeable backstage photos during the January 11 episode.
They started with the groufie of Dia with fellow artists Akira Morishita of BGYO, Jarlo Base, and Rufa Mae Quinto that was humorously captioned, “POV: Sumama ang tita mo sa lakad ng tropa n’yo.” Hosts Jhong Hilario and Vhong Navarro asked JM Dela Cerna, Marielle Montellano, and Rufa Mae who they thought was being referred to as the “tita,” with the Singing Duo saying that it might be Jarlo or Akira, while the Comedy Bombshell admitted that it was none other than herself.
The second photo featured Marielle in her Glinda transformation, which was likely taken while she was singing inside a dressing room, with JM seen in the background while in the middle of his Elphaba makeover ahead of their “Wicked” performance. It was captioned, “Maganda mong kaibigan na may tinatagong kadiliman.”
Another meme-worthy shot, candidly captured by former celebrity performer Pepe Herrera, showed Jason Dy sleeping on his chair with his mouth agape and was captioned, “Kaya pa ba ang hamon ng buhay?”
The last photo featured Dia in her Adam Levine of Maroon 5 look, sitting prettily on the lap of her boyfriend Juan Karlos, who had made a surprise appearance on the show. It was captioned using the famous line from his well-loved hit songs, “Ere.” Dia revealed that JK actually couldn’t handle seeing her transformed a man, yet she still managed to persuade her to take that funny photo with him.
