As soon as she and Alfredo (Juan Rodrigo) arrived at his home after visiting her daughter, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), in prison, Tindeng (Charo Santos) seemed to have asked for a quiet time and headed to her room to commune with Poong Hesus Nazareno.
She first prayed for Marites and her freedom as soon as possible after being incarcerated by the Guerreros, then for the protection of her beloved grandson, Tanggol (Coco Martin), whom she still regarded as the only hope of Manila.
Tindeng also implored the Lord for steadfastness and guidance among the supporters of Tanggol, which included her, that they may not easily lose courage and determination in fighting against the corrupt.
Unbeknownst to her, Tanggol and his friends really needed her prayer at the time because, despite being discouraged by Fatima (Andrea Brillantes) and his family, they still chose to pursue his plan of taking his father, Ramon (Christopher de Leon), away from the hospital.
Before he left, Tanggol told Fatima that if they failed to come back by morning of the next day, it would mean that they didn’t make it out alive and that their family must proceed in their exodus to the province. While her brother, Maki (Vince Rillon), had qualms about the success of Tanggol and his friends in their mission, Fatima was confident that they would return.
