Just when Samuel Trinidad (Gerald Anderson) thought that he was only going against the business partners of his late father, Mike Trinidad (John Arcilla), in the Yayaman Tayo Investment Fund that he had established to supposedly helped less privileged people, little did he expect that he would have another enemy in Johnny Policarpio (RK Bagatsing), the haughty police officer-husband of his colleague-turned-secret ally, Agnes Policarpio (Jessy Mendiola).
And in this edition of Kapamilya Update, let us revisit five of the most intense confrontations between Samuel and Johnny that probably left viewers amused and thrilled.
With how radiantly and mesmerizingly beautiful Agnes is, it’s definitely not going to be a surprise if other men develop feelings for him. Thus, Johnny couldn’t help but get jealous whenever he saw her with other guys, just like what happened when he caught her and Samuel talking with each other at their office.
Johnny immediately accused Samuel of flirting with his wife and repeatedly asked him, “Ikaw ba ang naka-schedule ngayon na landiin ang asawa ko?” to which Samuel replied that he didn’t have to worry since he and Agnes were just mere officemates. But Johnny refused to believe him due to his reputation as a scammer and went on to tell him to stay away from his wife.
Samuel then got irked by Johnny’s absolutely personal questions when the latter interrogated him regarding the shooting incident that involved him and Enzo (Seth Fedelin), the son of his boss in Oriental Ridge, Roldan (Joko Diaz). The arrogant police officer brought up his late father’s investment scam, which he deemed could be a possible motive for the crime. Johnny tried to further push him to ‘fess up, but Samuel shooed him away.
Determined to prove that Samuel has a hand in the controversial investment scam, Johnny presented himself as the bodyguard of Samuel and his family. This caused another heated squabble between them, as Samuel expressed his strong disapproval of this setup since he was certain that Johnny had ulterior motives for doing so. While he’s grateful to Johnny for bringing back his son to him after he got abducted, Samuel told him that there’s definitely no need for him to guard his family against people who might come to attack them.
This prompted Johnny to confront Samuel if he was just afraid that he would find out something fishy about him, as well as to quiz him again if he’s a collaborator in the scamming scheme of his bosses in Oriental Ridge, which had led to the kidnapping of his son and the shooting of Roldan’s son. Samuel insisted anew that he didn’t have any idea what he was referring to.
Despite welcoming them into their house and feeding them with a sumptuous meal, Johnny was still unstoppable in hurling snide remarks against the Trinidads, particularly Samuel. He observed how exquisite the interior, furniture, and appliances of their home were, then went on to comment how awesome the life of a scammer seems to be, which enraged Lolita (Lotlot de Leon). She berated him and asked him to leave, which Johnny heeded, yet cheekily told Samuel that he would just insult him outside their house.
And lastly, Johnny struck again during another interrogation with Samuel at the hospital after the latter had to face the 100 henchmen of Roldan and Jacob, whom he brazenly tried to fight all by himself.
In order to not jeopardize his membership in the group of the Rivera brothers, Samuel, of course, didn’t tell Johnny the truth but instead told him a made-up story, which the latter found totally ridiculous. Johnny quizzed him if Roldan had something to do with it after he learned that they were supposed to meet that night, which Samuel denied. Instead, he told him that a group of hooligans ganged up on him and took his mobile phone away from him.
Johnny, of course, didn’t believe him again and warned Samuel about finding out the truth in just a matter of time before he left him as per his request.
Until when are we going to see Samuel and Johnny quarrel with each other? Let’s all find out by not missing the next episodes of “Sins of the Father,” weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, TV5 and iWant.
