Manifesting music, good vibes, and unending star power, "ASAP" once again turned Sunday noon into a concert-like spectacle as part of its year-long 30th anniversary celebration.
The August 24 episode opened with a video montage of “ASAP” fans sharing what they’re manifesting for the year, many of them wishing to hear the trending song “Darling Hold My Hand” performed by the “ASAP” family. And that wish came true in the best way possible as Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera kicked off the number, infusing the hit with youthful dance-floor energy that hyped the whole studio.
Yeng Constantino and Angeline Quinto joined in with their powerhouse vocals layering onto the vibrant beat. Taking over the bridge, Erik Santos and Ogie Alcasid matched the soaring notes with synchronized dance moves that drew cheers from the crowd. All six then assembled for the final chorus in an opening number so charged it felt like a huge party.
After the act, the artists talked about their "manifesting" goals. Yeng shared she’s manifesting more work opportunities, Angeline made the audience laugh by wishing for “mas magandang mukha pa sana,” while Gary offered a heartfelt note of faith as he spoke about manifesting God’s goodness.
The manifesting magic carried on as the hosts read tweets from James Reid’s fans, many of them asking the universe to see him back on the "ASAP" stage. Wish granted as James appeared in a laidback denim ensemble, oozing effortless cool as he serenaded everyone with one of his popular hits “Huwag Ka Nang Humirit." James hit the bridge of the song with a full-on dance break with G-Force.
Released in 2015 as the lead single from his album "Reid Alert," the track remains one of James’ most recognizable anthems. A decade later, it still lands with the same addictive vibe.
The wish-granting spree kept going, this time from the ever-loyal Reginians. One fan named Janet shared how deeply she admires the Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez for her unmatched talent and the love and devotion she shows her family.
After the fan message, Regine took the stage, looking ethereal as smoke wafted dramatically behind her. She began with “Damdamin Ko Sa’yo,” an anthem for the heartbroken learning to move forward, then shifted into the tender promise of “Babalikang Muli.” The medley closed with the aching confessions of “Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang,” a timeless ballad of regret and longing.
The chain of wishes granted went on with a Cup of Joe stan named Rainier, who wished to finally see his faves rock the “ASAP” stage. The heavens listened as the group turned the studio into one big karaoke session with their mega-hit “Multo."
"Multo” may already be history-making as the longest-running No. 1 song on Spotify Philippines but we bet hearing it live was on another level edgy and soul-piercing.
Manifesting worked for the Blooms too! The girls of BINI wished to go live with “Out of My Head” on the “ASAP” stage, and the stars delivered. The audience was probably walking out with major LSS too.
Released in March 2024, “Out of My Head” is part of BINI’s sophomore EP "Talaarawan," which dives deep into the themes of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. The track received so much love from Blooms for its sultry vibe and lyrical hook.
It was an extra special Sunday on “ASAP” as the episode doubled as a birthday celebration for Ogie. But instead of making his own wish, it was his wife Regine who made her wish and shared how proud she is of everything Ogie has done as a musician. Regine also got real about those moments when Ogie low-key doubts if what he’s doing is still worth it, so she reminds him that as long as she’s around, there will always be someone listening because she’s his number one fan for life.
Because Regine wished for more music from Ogie, the latter granted it right away. Guitar in hand, Ogie appeared on stage with the OA Band as they treated fans to his latest track “In Lab.” The kilig-filled tune floated through the studio like a dose of pure sunshine, while Kolette Madelo and Jake Villamor—who also starred in the official music video—joined in with an adorable dance segment that matched the song’s feel-good pulse.
After the performance, Ogie was surrounded by his friends Martin, Yeng, and Angeline, along with the show's Gen Z hosts Darren Espanto and Alexa Ilacad, who all made sure he felt the love. The party continued with the “PBB Collab” Kapamilya Big 4 Brent Manalo, Ralph de Leon, Esnyr Ranollo, and River Joseph, who took over with a groovy dance to the trending TikTok sound “Dame Un Grr.” It’s been over a month since their “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” journey wrapped up, but judging from the cheers and the energy in the studio, the “PBB Collab” fever is still hot.
The music scene was absolutely shaken by an unexpected but explosive team-up from none other than Sarah Geronimo and P-Pop Kings SB19. Belting out their song “Umaaligid,” the Popstar Royalty and the nation’s P-pop pride brought unmatched swag and power to the “ASAP” stage, creating a moment that felt so iconic.
After the special number, Sarah shared how overwhelmed and honored she felt to be making music with the humble yet incredibly talented men of SB19. The group also opened up about the meaning behind “Umaaligid.” Justin explained that the track is a reminder for young people to be vigilant of the information constantly surrounding them, especially on social media.
SB19 likewise described the collab as a dream come true. Pablo recalled how he was already thrilled just to snap a photo with Sarah back then, and now, to actually work with her on a song, is beyond huge. Keeping with the day’s theme of manifesting, Stell revealed that when they were still trainees, they already used to manifest performing with Sarah someday, and now that it finally happened, they feel like “naabot na namin ang tala."
As a teaser for their upcoming concert in England, the “ASAP” family gathered its powerhouse singers in "The Greatest Showdown" segment to pay tribute to the music of English singer Phil Collins. Martin led the set with Yeng and Klarisse de Guzman as they delivered “A Groovy Kind of Love,” a ballad originally written in the ’60s and later reimagined by Collins in 1988, when it soared to No. 1 in both the US and UK.
Ogie, Erik, Angeline and Jona joined forces for “You’ll Be in My Heart,” Collins’ Oscar and Golden Globe-winning song from Disney’s "Tarzan."
The medley went on with Gary and Morissette Amon’s rendition of “Separate Lives,” a 1985 ballad Collins originally recorded with Marilyn Martin for the film "White Nights." They closed the Sunday concert party with all the singers assembled on stage.
