After being caught for letting Mia (Anne Curtis) spend the night at his place, Patrick (Joshua Garcia) wastes no time in sending her home and mending his rift with Matmat (Carlo Aquino). That evening, he makes up for a postponed drinking session with Jason (Francis Magundayao), one he had declined the night before because of Mia. Besides, he also needs to talk to his best friend to untangle the mess he has found himself in.
Jason asks if Mia is Patrick’s girlfriend, pointing to signs he has noticed, such as Patrick hurriedly borrowing his motorcycle to fetch her, letting her sleep over, and even bringing her food, all of which he doubts were made out of mere kindness. Patrick makes it clear that he’s not in a relationship with Mia, which prompts Jason to call him out for acting like a lover to someone who isn’t even his girlfriend, made worse by Mia’s troubled history with him. Jason reminds Patrick of the would on his hand, which he got from stopping the knife Mia had intended to use on one of his patients.
With the injury still far from fully healed, Jason warns that it should serve as a reminder of the danger Mia poses, especially when she is close to him. Patrick takes the words to heart and thanks his friend, admitting that lately he has been so distracted that he has even lost sight of his pursuit for answers about his mother’s death. At times, he says, he even forgets about Matmat, realizing how much of his focus has been taken away by Mia.
