Mia (Anne Curtis) sees an opportunity to blackmail Patrick (Joshua Garcia), threatening to step out of his house and look for Matmat (Carlo Aquino) if he insists on sending her home, and to tell his brother that she is staying there, knowing this will anger Patrick.
Her threat works, forcing Patrick to let her stay for the night. Keeping his distance, he considers placing a pillow between them as they sleep on one mattress but the idea proves useless against Mia’s stubbornness when she removes it and bluntly tells him to at least pretend, even just for one night, that he likes her. Besides, she adds, Patrick is good at acting, especially at pretending he isn’t hurt and that everything is fine.
In a rare moment, Patrick feels comfortable enough to open up to Mia, admitting that he can’t even remember the last time he put his own feelings first because he is always thinking of what Matmat would feel. A smile draws across Mia’s face as she tells him she knows when that was—when he came to fetch her in the rain, which she's certain he did not do for Matmat.
Mia turns to look at Patrick, only to see he has already dozed off.
