As Patrick (Joshua Garcia) begins his new job at OK Hospital, a psychiatric facility in their hometown of Maravida, a renewed sense of hope also sparks for his brother Matmat (Carlo Aquino), thanks to the warm and seemingly trustworthy hospital director, Doc Anok (Bobot Mortiz).
In a previous episode, Patrick opened up about Matmat’s condition, to which Doc Anok responded with encouragement, suggesting that Patrick bring Matmat in for a visit. He also reassured him that the hospital offers charity programs and any costs would be minimal. This eased Patrick’s biggest worry in seeking professional help for his brother.
"It's Okay To Not Be Okay" Episode 8 sees Patrick bringing Matmat to meet Doc Anok, who gains the boy’s attention, and affection, by mentioning one of his favorite things—dinosaurs. As the two slowly warm up to each other, Doc Anok speaks privately with Patrick, impressed by Matmat’s artistic skills after noticing his quick sketches on Mia’s (Anne Curtis) books.
He notes that while Matmat has yet to bring up the subject of butterflies, which is his biggest trigger, the time will come when he’s ready to talk about it. Doc Anok gently reminds Patrick that healing doesn’t happen overnight, and that it has to begin from within. “Tiwala lang,” he tells him.
Their encounter ends on a light note when Matmat offers to draw Doc Anok, surprising him with how detailed and expressive the sketch turns out to be.
