Patrick (Joshua Garcia) and Matmat (Carlo Aquino) arrive in their hometown of Maravida, with their ever-loyal friend Jason (Francis Magundayao) tagging along once again—just as he always does, wherever the brothers end up moving.
At the scenic pier of Maravida, they’re greeted by another friend, Gemma (Kaori Oinuma), who had been the one to suggest that maybe it’s time they consider coming back, especially now that the rainy season signals another cycle of uprooting. As soon as they set foot in the town, Patrick carefully asks Matmat if he’s truly okay with returning to a place that holds so many painful memories, making sure the decision wouldn’t overwhelm him. But Matmat assures them he’s fine.
In truth, he even lights up when they reach the compound where Gemma lives with her mother, Li (Rio Locsin), instantly taken by the seaside view. Li brings up that she’s heard of Patrick and Matmat's mother and asks for a few details. The brothers explain that they used to live in Sitio Kahilom and that their mother’s name is Tessie Gonzales. Patrick falls silent for a moment when Li mentions that she remembers Tessie as her regular customer in her eatery.
Before theit meal ends, Li tells them to call her Nanay, just like everyone in the neighborhood does. Patrick checks in with Matmat, asking if he’s okay with that. Matmat is hesitant at first, saying he already has a mother, but then asks, with childlike curiosity, if it’s possible to have two. It turns out to be a happy day for him.
