With "Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11" celebrating its first anniversary, the batch's alums unlocked another milestone as they made their debut at the Star Magic All-Star Games 2025 last July 20.
In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, "PBB Gen 11" Big Winner Fyang Smith and her love team partner JM Ibarra shares that they were already happy with the experience alone, but little did they know it would turn out to be even more memorable as they were both hailed Rookie of the Year in their respective games.
Fyang, who played for the Lady Spikers in the Women’s Volleyball event, says she entered the game with no expectations at all. She was there ready to enjoy and give her best, which made her Rookie of the Year award even sweeter. She also treasures her bond with her teammates, whom she describes as good players and really good people. Fyang was able to sneak in quick chats with JMFyang fans who showed up to cheer for them as well.
JM echoes that same energy, saying that just being part of Team Star Magic Shooting Stars already felt like a win, and while he had limited minutes on the court given that he’s still a rookie, it didn’t take away from how fun the experience was. He especially enjoyed bonding with his teammates, like Seth Fedelin. And of course, he went home even happier after being named Rookie of the Year.
Having someone rooting for you from the sidelines can seriously level up your game, and that might’ve been exactly what pushed JM to shine on the court as Fyang was right there to cheer him on. "Sobrang motivated ako. Ang laki ng hawak niyang banner, sabi ko, 'Kailangan maka-shoot ako.' Feeling ko lang sobrang na-motivate ako no'n dahil kay Fyang, sa fans, sa friends," he shares.
But of all the cheers they received, none meant more than the ones they gave each other.
