It was a fun and exciting experience for the cast of the romantic fantasy series Ghosting as they worked closely together in bringing their characters to life in the newest iWant series.
During the preview of the first episode, lead stars Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra, popularly known as JMFyang, opened up about their excitement as they took on their first lead roles after their Pinoy Big Brother stint.
“Mas lamang po ‘yung excitement na gawin namin ‘tong project na ‘to at ipakita ‘to, first, sa fandom namin and sa lahat ng casual viewers. So, hanggang matapos, wala po akong na feel na pressure. Siguro, hirap ‘yon, pero pressure wala,” JM said.
He added, “Mas lamang po ‘yung happiness, excitement ko habang ginagawa ko po ‘tong project namin together.”
For Fyang, the show marked a different kind of challenge. Though used to being in front of the camera as a content creator, she admitted that acting for her first on-screen series was a big step.
“Ako po talaga, at first, may pressure po ako kasi hindi ko alam kung paano ko ma de-deliver ng tama and first on-screen ko po kasi ‘to na series. So, yes po may pressure sa akin kasi before mo meron po akong puntong Laguna. So, kailangan ko pong tanggalin ‘yon, bago ko ma-deliver ng tama ‘yung script ko,” Fyang admitted.
She also found her character Jaja relatable, especially since both were raised by their grandmothers.
“Nakarelate po siguro ako sa personality,” she said. “Kasi si Jaja very jolly, very makulit, mapagmahal, family oriented and Lola’s girl and as Jaja po kasi pinalaki rin po kasi siya ng lola niya gaya ko po na lola ko rin nagpalaki sa akin.”
Fyang also said her natural humor helped her portray the role more easily.
“Siguro po nature na po sya sa akin na lumalabas talaga sa bibig ko and yung mga napanood niyo naman po si Direk (Theodore Boborol) po talaga nag-guide sa akin kung paano ko po siya idedeliver nang tama.,” she added.
Meanwhile, cast member Vivoree Esclito shared how she supported her co-stars, especially as they navigated their first lead roles.
“I just let them shine talaga kasi that’s my way of supporting them as well na parang I let them do their thing and as much as I can talaga I let them be comfortable around me kasi I don’t want to be intimidated naman, kasi ayoko naman na ganon. Kasi gusto ko naman na may ma contribute ‘din sa ganda ng show overall,” she shared.
Kobie Brown, who plays the other "red flag" love interest of Fyang’s character, also expressed how easy it was working with the rising actress.
“It was very easy to work with Fyang. She’s sobrang professional. At the first time when we had our photoshoot, medyo nervous po ako but we became comfortable with each other and we’re friends now,” Kobie shared.
“She’s very professional and so very funny and she’s very good at adlibs, I’m not gonna lie like she’ll just come up with stuff on the spot and I really get amazed so it was very easy to work with her,” he continued.

Another cast member, Gello Marquez, shared how the team dynamic contributed to an enjoyable shoot. He revealed that they often collaborated and gave each other suggestions on how to deliver their lines better.
“Actually, for example sa eksena namin kung ano pumasok sa isip talaga is sinasabi na namin. Minsan nagtutulungan din kami like sasabihin sa akin nila JM, nila Fyang, ng iba pa naming kasama na ito gawin, sabihin mo,” he shared. “Super, super enjoy kami”
