As they managed to escape from her family and their henchmen, Erika (Gillian Vicencio) and Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) sought refuge at a motel. He was initially hesitant with the idea of them spending the night together there, but she insisted that it was their safest option at the time, since there were already police roving around the area where they were.
When quizzed by Erika about his reason for attempting to murder her brother, Miguelito (Jake Cuenca), Santino confessed that it’s because he found out that it was really him who killed his brother, David (McCoy de Leon), and not their eldest brother, Tanggol (Coco Martin).
He expressed regret over what he did towards Tanggol and for allowing himself to be lured by Angkong Lucio (Ronnie Lazaro) into thinking that it was Tanggol who killed David. Thus, he vowed to make Miguelito pay for the crimes he committed, particularly to David.
