It’s the time of the year again when our social media newsfeeds are flooded with poignant tributes to all the “haligi ng tahanan,” who have been the pillars of strength to their families. Regardless of whether we’re able to form a close-knit tie with them or not, since many of them have to be away from us most of the time to work in order to provide a better life to our families, our fathers (as well as the father figures in our lives), especially the loving and responsible ones, definitely deserve to be recognized.

So, just in time for the Father’s Day 2025 celebration this Sunday, June 14, we quizzed some of our favorite celebrities about what awards they’re likely to give their beloved dads if given the chance, and we collated their touching and quirky responses in this exclusive video.

Let’s begin with the “Best Dad Award,” which “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” alumnae Kolette Madelo and Fyang Smith would bestow on their respective fathers. Even though the man she calls Papa is not her biological dad, Kolette loves him so much and has been very close to him ever since she was still a kid. Fyang, on the other hand, believes that nobody’s going to be a better man than her dad.

PBB Celebrity Collab Edition” host Alexa Ilacad and ex-housemate Josh Ford would also confer the same recognition to their dads, with Alexa tagging her daddy as her “one call away” person, while Josh dedicating everything that he does at present to him.

Since her father, the late Mang Gerry Velasquez, didn’t only provide for their family but also honed and trained her to become a great singer, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid would award him “Best Papa in the World.”

The other celebrities, meanwhile, displayed their creativity by coming up with unique and even quirky awards for the most important men in their lives, as well as imparting the context behind those.

For Jameson Blake, it’s going to be the “Most Intellectual and Caring Father.” Since his dad has been in Hong Kong for work, he expressed how much he misses him, as well as their conversations and the wisdom that he imparts to him.

Andi Abaya has quite the same response as she conveys wanting to give her father the “Smartest Dad Ever.” According the Kapamilya star, she admires how smart and wise her dad is, as well as his way of approaching his work and family. Thus, his being intelligent is something that she also likes to have as an individual.

Gello Marquez said that he would likely present the “Pinaka Selfless na Tatay” award to his father, while Rain Celmar would give her dad the “Best Instructor” award because he has taught her so many things in life.

Since her father was among her greatest influences, inspirations, and supporters in life, Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan thinks that her dad deserves the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Being a Supportive and Loving Father.”

ASAP” host Edward Barber would bestow the “Always Present Award” to his dad, who, despite not being physically present at all times since he’s in Germany, has always been there for him in spirit. According to him, his Daddy Kevin is among the people who are always ready to drop anything to answer his call and to help him out. Thus, knowing that his dad will be there for him whenever he needs him gives him so much comfort.

Ken San Jose tags his dad as the “Most Charismatic Father,” describing him as very funny, captivating, and supportive. Well, that’s not quite surprising since he’s apparently used to the spotlight as a performer, specifically a singer.

The following stars, on the other hand, quite exposed their fathers by wanting to give them recognitions with playful names corresponding to the personalities of their dads that they admire the most.

As he labeled his dad as a person who’s easygoing and always in a good mood, Darren Espanto would give his dad the “Most Chill Award.”

ASAP” Rockoustic Heartthrob member Kobie Brown wants to give his dad the “Realest and Most Unfiltered Dad” award because, according to him, he tends to instantly say whatever is on his mind without sugarcoating. He further said that he is glad to be able to get his dad’s being straightforward, for he considers it a good trait.

Since his dad knows the good spots to eat and what to order for everyone, Jeremy Glinoga is likely to give him the “Best in Eating Award.” Meanwhile, for Robi Domingo, his father is not only the “best dad” for him but also the “Best Comedian” because he’s so funny and likes to tell jokes.

And lastly, even though their dads have already passed away, Jona and Emilio Daez continue to pay homage to them.

As she remembers how his father, who died in 2017, loved to prepare food for them, with menudo being his apparent specialty as he tended to cook it every week, the Fearless Diva would likely present him with the “The Best Cook in the World” award.

Meanwhile, he may not be able to form a bond with his dad, who bade them adieu when he was still very young, Emilio firmly believes that his father has been by his side to guide him. That’s why he would like to give him the “Guardian Angel” Award as his way of thanking him for watching over him through the years.

What about you, Kapamilya? What kind of recognition are you likely going to give your dad?
