Days after her last psychological session, Alice (Janella Salvador) continues attempting to block her door against danger, still unsure whether the threat comes from outside or from herself during her sleepwalking.
Amid her frantic efforts, she breaks down emotionally and recalls Scott’s (Mark Neumann) recent words about how she saved him the day they met—and how now might be his turn to save her.
The moment triggers more memories of the day they first met in the office elevator, which malfunctioned and left them both trapped. Despite the flickering lights, Alice keeps her composure and manages to call for help.
While waiting for rescue, Alice notices Scott’s anxious behavior and excessive sweating, and he eventually admits that he has just realized he is claustrophobic, sharing a childhood memory of trauma similar to Alice’s.
Trying to help, Alice gives Scott a pen to hold and guides him through a grounding technique—something she also uses to cope with her own fear of the dark.
Seeing its effect, Scott calls Alice his lifesaver. She then gently hints that he might have a chance to save her next, which Scott takes as a subtle way of asking him out—they soon find themselves in love.
