The episode begins with a couple coincidentally finding five-year-old Alice, who had gotten lost and kept crying among the trees. This memory brings adult Alice (Janella Salvador) to tears as she gazes at the now-filled lot where she once stood.
Finally, in her session with the psychologist, she expresses intense restlessness over the revelation that her trauma response was not actually connected to Scott’s (Mark Neumann) alleged abuse. The psychologist reminds her once more that, even if her mind does not remember, her body might—an understanding they explore through questions about her senses.
Little by little, Alice lists what she thinks she remembers: it was the same as always—it was dark, she was crying with her hands tied—and gradually more details emerge, including the heat, her crouching position, the tight space, and the loss of her hearing, which left her able to hear only the echoes of her cries.
Soon after the consultation, Alice returns home with Mel (Sue Ramirez), where Scott, who has been waiting for her just outside, meets them—much to the dismay of the annoyed Beth (Charlie Dizon). Despite the pain of their situation, Scott says he will wait for Alice no matter how long it takes.
Alice could only listen and stare before walking away, clearly hurting Scott.
Being the only one to give Scott a chance to explain himself, Mel tells Alice that he is staying at La Casa de Ella and would like Seth (Rhys Stevens) to visit him there, so as not to disturb Alice’s peace.
Beth enters the conversation in her usual harsh tone, disagreeing, which leads to a lengthy speech focused on women’s struggles in making excuses for men who abuse them—affecting Mel more than Alice.
The moment Beth ends her talk with a question about how they can protect Alice when she hides everything from them, she adds that Alice seemed more focused on preserving her husband’s reputation than on protecting herself and those around her.
Exhausted, Alice responds by asking why she should open up to Beth when the first thing Beth did was judge rather than try to understand. The friends then walk away from each other, leaving a crying Mel alone.
Moments later, Alice calls her mother, Susan (Carlene Aguilar), and asks again about when she got lost at age five, seeking a clearer account—particularly about the time at the market when she wandered off on her own.
More details resurface, including Alice’s scratches and her sessions with the child psychologist, where she kept crying—the doctor even noting that little Alice might not yet be ready to face her traumatic memories.
