As she proceeded to the bedroom that they used to share, which was also used by Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) and his “baby mama”, Erika (Gillian Vicencio), when they sought refuge there after being hunted down by the Red Phoenix, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) asked Rigor (John Estrada) regarding their youngest child’s whereabouts.
He relayed to her that Santino doesn’t live there anymore after he decided to move into the house of the girl he impregnated. Rigor told her that he couldn’t do anything about it since that was what the family of the girl wanted, then implied that Marites didn’t have the right to criticize his decision since she abandoned them.
Marites was shocked to find out that the girl whom Santino had a relationship with was his cousin, Erika, the daughter of her half-brother, Vice Mayor Roberto Guerrero (Albert Martinez). Thus, she assumed that the reason why Rigor agreed to the setup was because he had already become a lackey of the Guerreros, which he immediately refuted, telling her that he indeed had a hard time making the decision, and he knew in his heart that it was the right thing to do.
As Marites asked him if he didn’t have any idea how barbarous the Guerreros could be, Rigor told her that Roberto assured him that they wouldn’t lay a finger on Santino, and he’s holding on to that. She rebuked him for easily believing that promise and warned that she would go to the Guerrero mansion to check on their son. However, Rigor told her that she would only put their son’s life in danger, reminding her that her paternal family has bad blood against Ramon (Christopher de Leon).
She then went on to ask him regarding Tanggol, but Rigor only returned the question to her, as he assumed that she knew where her son and Ramon might be hiding. Marites also confronted him about his real intention for setting her free and bringing her back to their house, to which Rigor replied that it’s basically because she is his wife and because he is still hoping for their family to be rebuilt.
However, Marites implied that there’s no chance for them to get back together after everything that had happened to them and their family. Nevertheless, Rigor firmly believes that it’s not yet late for them, especially once Tanggol gets either caught or killed by the authorities.
This prompted her to walk out in a huff and go straight to the bedroom that used to be Tindeng’s (Charo Santos), where she broke down and vowed to get away from Rigor once she finds Santino and Tanggol.
