Samuel’s (Gerald Anderson) attempt to ruin the Bakunawa syndicate comes at a painful cost in the November 13 episode of “Sins of the Father.” Leah (Shaina Magdayao) steps into danger to protect her son, eventually revealing the truth about their family.
As Samuel fights for justice behind bars, Diego (Tirso Cruz III) feeds the nation lies, determined to bury the truth about his criminal activities.
Leah confirms the men behind the syndicate
Leah arrives, spots King (Clave Sun), and immediately grabs him. A few minutes later, Lolita (Lotlot de Leon) and Agnes (Jessy Mendiola) arrive. Together, they fight off Diego’s men. Lolita holds onto Chloe (Cailey Magno) and King tightly, keeping them away from harm. A fistfight breaks out between Leah, Agnes, and Diego's men.
Later on, one of Diego’s armed men points a gun at Leah with the intent to kill her.
“Sandali! Ako si Attorney Leah Ramirez-Rivera. Asawa ako ni Jacob Rivera (JC de Vera). Anak ako ni Police General Diego Ramirez,” she declares with conviction. “Sila mga boss mo, ‘di ba? Ano?! Papatayin mo ba ang asawa’t anak ng mga boss mo?!”
When the gunman fails to respond, Leah confirms her suspicion—her husband and father are indeed the bosses. This fuels her rage even more, then she rushes King and Chloe to her car. “Sandali! Saan mo dadalhin ang apo ko?!” Lolita demands. They argue. “Mas ligtas siya sa akin!”
“Hindi! Hindi mo pwedeng kunin ang apo ko!” Lolita protests.
Leah explains that Samuel called her and asked her to protect King. Despite Lolita’s protests, Leah drives off with King and Chloe to keep them safe from any danger.
Arissa worries about Enzo while being watched
Meanwhile, Arissa (Francine Diaz) isn’t safe either. She’s worried about Enzo (Seth Fedelin), while Luke (Jeremiah Lisbo) tries to calm her down, saying Enzo’s disappearance is normal.
“Wala kang alam!” Arissa snaps at him. Luke insists he doesn’t know anything because no one tells him the truth. He asks if Arissa has a problem with him.
Arissa doubts Luke because he’s the son of Congressman Abel (Simon Ibarra). “Kaya pala nilalayuan mo ’ko dahil doon,” Luke says. He reassures her that not everything is true and that it’s all fake news. “Mabait at tapat na congressman ang papa ko.”
While they talk, Arissa is unknowingly being watched by one of Diego’s armed men posing as a restaurant customer. He discreetly points a gun at her. Just before he can shoot, Paeng (Nico Antonio) arrives and pulls Arissa to safety.
Luke, furious, punches a wall in frustration—only to discover stacks of money hidden inside the wall.
Samuel faces allegations over Colonel Enrico's death
Samuel struggles to escape the scam warehouse. He’s beaten and tortured until he loses consciousness. When he wakes up, he finds himself beside Colonel Enrico’s (Soliman Cruz) lifeless body, and he’s in disbelief.
As he mourns, a group of policemen arrive, including Johnny (RK Bagatsing). They see the gun in Samuel’s hand and immediately suspect him.
“Hindi ko siya pinatay!” Samuel cries.
Johnny removes Samuel’s mask and is enraged to see it’s him. His suspicions deepen, and he arrests Samuel. Samuel continues to deny involvement in Colonel Enrico’s death. “Hindi ko pinatay si Colonel! Magkasama kami sa operasyon!”
Johnny doesn’t believe him. “Huli ka na nga, kung ano-ano pa’ng sinasabi mo, eh!” Samuel reveals he was the one who rescued the abducted women from the container van. Johnny recalls one of the victims’ stories about a man who helped them escape. He also remembers the attempted kidnapping of the programmers.
“Ako ’yong tinatawag mong Zorro. Pinasok ko ’yong sindikato para pabagsakin sila! ’Yong Bakunawa, Johnny, set-up ’to ng boss nila, si Tanda, para gantihan ako!” Johnny asks who Tanda is. Samuel reveals it’s General Diego Ramirez—Johnny’s own father. Johnny is stunned as the truth begins to sink in.
Samuel named as the head of Bakunawa
News breaks that the leader of Bakunawa has been captured—Samuel Trinidad. Arissa, Agnes, and Lolita watch the broadcast, shocked by what Samuel went through.
“Nakatakas ang mga bihag mula sa warehouse dahil sa grupo ni Samuel Trinidad. Which led to the death of Colonel Enrico Villanueva.” Samuel is now in custody.
Agnes is shaken by the news of Colonel Enrico’s death. Samuel is presented as the alleged head of Bakunawa. Reporters bombard him with questions.
“Hindi ako ’yong pumatay kay Colonel Villanueva at lalong hindi ako ’yong ulo ng Bakunawa!” He adds that he helped Colonel Enrico investigate the syndicate’s crimes. “Ang totoong pinuno ng Bakunawa ay si Police General Diego Ramirez!”
Leah watches as Samuel exposes the truth. “Kasabwat niya sina Roldan Rivera (Joko Diaz) at Jacob Rivera! Front lang ’yong Oriental Ridge. At kasama rin sina Congressman Montelibano, Pastor Ferdinand Almonte (Joel Saracho), Valentino Narciso (Mel Martinez), at si Matthias Vergara (Eric Fructuoso).” Samuel’s revelations enrage the Bakunawa members. Diego appears as Samuel accuses him. “That is so preposterous!” Diego denies. “That is so low! Even for someone of your stature, Samuel Trinidad!”
“Ikaw ’yong pumatay kay Colonel Enrico. Sinet-up mo ’ko!”
Diego laughs off the accusation. “I had no idea that the biggest scammer was right under my nose!” He claims Samuel used King to get close to him, revealing that Leah is King’s mother. “Pinasabog niya ang kotse ko para patayin ako. And when he failed, pinalabas pa niya na siya ang nagligtas sa akin para magmukha siyang bayani!”
Diego manipulates the public while Samuel is taken away.
Leah tells the truth about their family
As she watches the news, Leah sobs with King and Chloe cry behind her. King insists his father is kind and Diego is wrong, to which Leah agrees.
King also hears Diego reveal that Leah is his mother. “Mommy, magkapatid po kami ni King?” Chloe asks. Leah breaks down and confirms the truth to King. “I am so sorry at ngayon lang ako dumating sa buhay mo.”
She apologizes to Chloe and promises to fix everything. The three embrace, crying their hearts out.
Lolita is eager to save Samuel
After watching the news, Lolita is furious and wants to rescue Samuel. Arissa and Agnes try to stop her. “Kailangan niya ’ko ngayon! Kailangan kong masigurado na okay siya! Na ligtas siya!” Lolita cries.
Agnes reminds her of Samuel’s sacrifice. “Nangako ako sa kaniya na poprotektahan ko kayo!” They convince Lolita to stay safe, assuring her that Samuel will do everything to protect them.
Diego plans to rebuild Bakunawa
The Bakunawa team is enraged. Diego orders Matthias to delete all CCTV footage to keep the police from getting evidence. Meanwhile, Roldan confronts Diego about Enzo’s whereabouts.
“Wala sa’kin ang anak mo! Idea lang lahat ’yon ni Samuel Trinidad para lumabas kayong magkapatid sa lungga ninyo!” Diego insists.
Roldan screams in frustration. Meanwhile, Enzo and the other abducted victims are transferred to another abandoned location. Bekkah fails to spot Enzo as he hides from her.
Later on, Jacob is brought to headquarters and sees everyone involved, including Diego.
“Pauli-ulit kong sinasabi sa inyo. Hindi kayo naniniwala sa akin!” Jacob shouts. Diego admits his mistake. “Lahat naman tayo nagoyo ng hayop na Samuel Trinidad na ’yon.”
He blames Jacob and Roldan for letting Samuel infiltrate Oriental Ridge. “Now we have to rebuild!” Diego declares that Samuel has served his purpose and will now be their fall guy. “And tomorrow he dies!”
Samuel vows for revenge
In jail, Samuel recalls how Diego destroyed his reputation earlier in front of the nation. His anger intensifies.
“Tatakas ako dito at tutugisin ko kayo. Pinapangako ko, hangga’t humihinga ako, hindi kayo magtatagumpay sa kasamaan n’yo.”
As the truth begins to surface, the fight for justice becomes more personal than ever. But with Diego still in control, how long can the truth survive?
