MANILA -- Mark “Mugen” Striegl of "Physical: Asia" and WBO Oriental super featherweight champion Rodex “The Tank” Piala are joining ABS-CBN's crime-thriller series "Sins of the Father," which is now down to its last two weeks.
This was confirmed by show producer JRB Creative Production through a reel uploaded on social media on Tuesday.
In the caption, it described Striegl and Piala as two warriors that the show's lead character Samuel (Gerald Anderson) will face in an intense fight.
The reel also gave a glimpse of how Anderson directed and did the scenes with the two fighters.
"Alam mo because he is super trained na fighter and hindi sila trained para sa mga off treat na punches it's a challenge because totoong fighter siya. Real fighters, mas real 'yung eksena. 'Yung mga suntok niya sa akin, 'yung sipa niya sa akin, nasipa niya talaga ako. There's one move na tinuhod niya ako na parang nandito na (sa noo), humalik lang sa akin 'yung tuhod niya, 'di ko alam kung paano niya ginawa 'yon pero ang galing," Anderson said of his scenes with Striegl.
"Making a fight scene with idol Rodex is a different experience kasi mararamdaman mo 'yung difference ng speed niya. Sobrang bilis, I mean kumpara doon sa naka-fight ko and obviously sa mga stunt doubles which is a different kind of technique. Ito talaga boksingero kasi and he's a current champion. It was such an amazing experience doing the scene with him. Sana sa ibang projects ay makasama natin ulit," Anderson said about working with Piala.
"Sins of the Father" airs weeknights, 9:30 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5. It's also available on on iWant and TFC.
