After being able to escape from the inquisitiveness of Lola Florie (Perla Bautista), Ponggay (Maris Racal) and Chona (Via Antonio) immediately went to the former’s room, where they discussed what happened in Ponggay’s mission.
Although she was able to prove that it was indeed “Mystery Man”, who was the same person who almost killed his stepsister, Dimples (Criza Taa), as well as victimized other women, Ponggay failed to find out his real identity since he was wearing a mask. She also imparted how Tanggol saved her from the notorious predator before “Mystery Man” could murder her and turn her into another story.
She went on to mention that Tanggol even brought her to his and his friends’ new hideout, wherein she had the chance to further get to know him via their candid conversation. This indeed astonished Chona, who suggested that they must already report this to their superiors, but Ponggay asked her not to, as she owes him a debt of gratitude for saving her and her father.
Chona reminded her that they’re police and it’s part of their sworn duty to penalize criminals like Tanggol, but Ponggay argued that their tête-à-tête has made her realize that he might just be a victim of the circumstances that he’s in, especially of his rivals, the Guerreros.
As Chona warned her that Tanggol might just be messing with her or pretending to be a good person since he’s a politician, Ponggay maintained that she indeed felt the sincerity of Tanggol.
Despite her failure to finish off “Mystery Man”, which alarmed Chona since he might be able to find new victims, Ponggay vowed not to let that happen again, as she’s keen to find out who the man is behind the mask and to bring him to jail in order to attain justice for Dimples and the other girls “Mystery Man” had taken advantage of.
