A day without laughter is once again out of the question for “Rainbow Rumble,” as the comedic ensemble of Candy Pangilinan, Atakstar, DJ Onse, Michelle O’Bombshell, and Direk John “Sweet” Lapus improvise punchlines and spur-of-the-moment telenovela-style theatrics with each other on the October 4 episode.
In the “Rally to the Top” round, Batangueño comedian, content creator, and radio personality DJ Onse surpassed the front-runners Direk Sweet (John Lapus) and Michelle O’Bombshell, earning the final cash prize of 87,000 pesos.
After the energetic showdown among the circle of comedians, they playfully recalled their memorable “Rainbow Rumble” experiences.
Despite feeling a little downhearted with his near triumph as the game’s first front-runner, Direk Sweet just light-heartedly sulked about Michelle’s use of “Atras Power” on him and was more ecstatic over DJ Onse’s win. “Okay lang ‘yon, dahil anak ko naman at kaibigang mahal na mahal na si DJ Onse ang nanalo,” said Direk Sweet.
Candy Pangilinan, an actress, podcaster, and vlogger, also saw the game as a fun experience rather than just a competition. “Okay lang, nag-enjoy naman ako kasi na-excite naman ako saka natuwa ako na I’m here,” she expressed.
For Atakstar, an actor and stand-up comedian, “[Para] sa akin masaya na ako doon na kahit papaano [ay] naka-step ako sa isang tile… at saka ‘yung nanalo ay deserve niya.” He also added that simply being there was also enough to make the experience positive for him.
Writer and comedian Michelle O’Bombshell extends the group’s heartfelt support for DJ Onse, setting aside the competitive spirit, “Okay lang, friend naman ‘yung nanalo. So, alam mo ‘yun, support support.”
When discussing the challenging segments of “Rainbow Rumble,” the majority of players pointed to the tension between their quick reflexes when swiping the floor sensors and the strategically chosen brain-tickling questions.
To wrap up the post-game ‘kamustahan’ session with the players, they bonded over Luis Manzano’s top-notch hosting. “Alam naman natin [na] si Luis talaga ay super happy kausap, super bait,” Atakstar commented.
Direk Sweet also reiterated, “Napakagaling talaga na host ni Luis Manzano… After all these years, Luis Manzano is still one of the best hosts in the Philippines.” Michelle O’Bombshell also did not overlook expressing gratitude to “Rainbow Rumble’s” staff, emphasizing the show’s fun concept and friendly atmosphere.
When asked how he prepared to compete in “Rainbow Rumble,” DJ Onse, the winner of the episode, enthusiastically replied that coffee gave him energy during the match. He also mentioned that the unpredictability of the game was what made it enjoyable for him: “Kahit nasa dulo ka na, huli ka na, ‘yung feeling mo talo ka na, [but] you can still win the game.”
