Three years since their teleserye wrapped up, five cast members of the 2022 ABS-CBN Studios primetime series “A Family Affair” got reunited in the October 11 episode of “Rainbow Rumble,” wherein their knowledge, agility, quick-wittedness, and even friendship were put to the test as they responded to the questions of host Luis Manzano.
Their “rally to the top” may have been tough but lead actress Ivana Alawi had managed to beat her co-stars Jake Ejercito, Aya Fernandez, Claire Ruiz, and Rans Rifol, then move on to the jackpot round, where she played “Rainbow Reveal” and had the chance to win the P1 million grand prize. Unfortunately, she was only able to get three out of six unique colors, which provided her with an additional P15,000 on top of the P65,000 that she earned from the previous round.
ABS-CBN Studios was able to catch up with them right after the show, in which they fondly talked about their respective experiences playing the game. Claire conveyed that she was still happy and grateful for being given the opportunity to get together again with her “A Family Affair” castmates.
As Jake jokingly uttered that he just allowed them to have their way as the real gentleman that he is, Aya and Rans both smilingly expressed how sad they were for not making it to the jackpot round.
With regard to the hardest part of the game, Claire, Aya, and Rans all claimed that it was definitely swiping the sensors. Although he almost won, Jake, on the other hand, confessed that he actually found the questions challenging because of how tricky they could be.
“Rainbow Rumble” may just be a simple game, yet the “A Family Affair” cast was still able to get morals from the experience. For Claire, it’s acceptance that there are things that are meant for her, as well as are not. Jake said that it made him realize that one shouldn’t be boastful or else the opponent might use his/her “atras power” against him/her.
Unleashing the beauty queen in her, Aya gave us a profound response. She enthusiastically stated, “Talagang may kasamang luck. Hindi porke’t ikaw ang pinaka mabilis, ikaw ang pinaka matalino, ikaw ang mananalo. So, sa buhay, may halong grasya ng Panginoon.”
Then she added, “Super nag-enjoy ako kasi nga ‘yong bonding talaga namin kakaiba. As in hanggang ngayon, lagi kaming nagre-reunion kahit na laging drawing. Basta, tight na tight kaming lahat. Lagi kaming nag-u-update-an sa buhay. Kaya, thank you, ‘Rainbow Rumble’ sa reunion namin na hindi drawing.”
Rans had a quite similar answer, as she enthused about how luck plays an important role in this kind of game. She recounted how her failures to swipe the sensor first made her miss a lot of chances to answer.
Episode winner Ivana, meanwhile, commented on how tough the questions were in the “Rapid Rumble” segment of the jackpot round, yet she’s delighted at the same time to learn something new.
When asked how she prepared for her “Rainbow Rumble” stint, she disclosed not actually doing anything prior to the game, so she was also surprised that she won.
And lastly, with regard to the part of the game that she enjoyed the most, she said, “Lahat. Kasi siyempre, para kaming barkada talaga and puro kami kalokohan. Wala naman kaming mga pikunan, lahat ng nakikita n’yo, mga biruan lang namin ‘yon.”
