Exactly three decades since their onscreen barkada was formed in 1995, five of “TGIS” cast members—Michael Flores, Ciara Sotto, Polo Ravales, Bernadette Allyson, and Bobby Andrews—got reunited in the September 20 episode of “Rainbow Rumble,” not only to reminisce on their fondest memories together but also to try to get ahead of each other in the multicolored pyramid.
By the end of the “Rally to the Top” round, in which they got to showcase their agility in swiping the floor sensors in their attempt to take their turns, as well as their wit in answering the questions asked by host Luis Manzano, it was Ciara who emerged as the winner and moved forward to the jackpot round. She may have failed to take home the whopping million jackpot prize after she failed to get all unique colors, but she still received a total of P87,000 in cash prize.
ABS-CBN Studios had the chance to catch up with the “TGIS” cast after their game, in which they enthusiastically shared their fun and unforgettable “Rainbow Rumble” experience.
Not being able to reach the tricolored tile may have saddened her, but Bernadette said that she still had so much fun. The same went for Bobby, who presumed that he probably doesn’t have luck when it comes to gameshows. However, he was happy and content to become a contender and almost made it to the jackpot round if only he was able to swipe the sensor ahead of Ciara during the final question in the elimination round.
Polo also had the same story as Bobby, who also hoped that it would be he who would play in the next round. He may feel regretful for falling short in becoming the episode winner, yet he was glad to play along with his friends and former “TGIS” castmates.
Meanwhile, despite not being able to answer at least one question, Michael admitted feeling a little dismayed at first, but he truly enjoyed the game nonetheless. Thus, when asked which part of the game they found the most challenging, he said that it would be every aspect of it—for obvious reasons.
Bernadette, who took home P5,000, and Bobby, who won P20,000, both conveyed how they had a hard time swiping the sensors, which hindered them from taking their turns even though they knew the answers. Polo, on the other hand, admitted to getting boggled by some of the questions, so he missed some of his turns and finished the game with P10,000 in hand.
With regard to their takeaways from the game, Bernadette remarked that one’s reflexes must be quick in order for one to win. Bobby also had some advice for the next contestants, telling them to make sure that they’re going to get the “Atras Power” because it could be a great help for them.
Michael reiterated that he found the game very fun, but what made it memorable for him was that it was his first time not scoring or moving forward in a game show. Meanwhile, Polo stressed that aside from the agility in swiping the sensor and understanding the question, luck also has an intervention in games like this.
Episode winner Ciara then wasn’t able to conceal her glee when asked about her “Rainbow Rumble” experience.
“Natutunan ko na you just have to enjoy every moment and enjoy the company of your friends, and huwag masyadong seryoso kasi ‘yong questions talagang super dali lang or common sense lang, pero kapag nilalaliman mo ‘yong pag-iisip mo, magkakamali ka pa lalo,” she enthusiastically stated.
She also didn’t have any rigorous preparations prior to coming to the show but she just equipped herself with prayers, especially in order to pacify her jitters throughout the game.
And lastly, when it comes to the moment that she enjoyed the most, Ciara conveyed that it was definitely none other than making it to the jackpot round.
