Vitto (Edu Manzano) may be an evil and complicated character, but one thing is clear—his love for his daughters, Iris (Janine Gutierrez) and Heather (Analain Salvador), is unwavering, fair, and strong.
Despite his flaws, he shows that he loves them both equally, as show in this Kapamilya Toplist of scenes from "Lavender Fields." Even if it means constantly extending his patience to step in and calm the frequent clashes between his two daughters, Vitto is always there to show his devotion.
He’s done many evil deeds, but you can't question his fatherly love because, for Vitto, if he could take on all the hurt and problems his daughters are going through, he would. This was clearly demonstrated in the scene where Iris was stressed out searching for her husband's mistress, Jasmin (Jodi Sta. Maria). Seeing how much it was affecting his daughter, Vitto told her to leave the search to him.
His love was also evident when he took the lead in singing "Happy Birthday" at Iris' party, making sure she felt special in front of the guests.
And when Iris was unwell due to a surprise attack from Jasmin during an occasion, it was Vitto who stayed by her side to make sure she felt better. Once again, he promised to take care of all the troubles that were consuming her.
He often plays the role of a mediator between his children. One time, when the two clashed because Iris couldn't accept her sister from her dad’s other woman, Vitto handled the situation with care and balance by reminding Iris to be the bigger person and urged her to be more considerate.
Just as he shows appreciation for Iris, he does the same for Heather, as painted in a scene where he tenderly expressed how proud he was of Heather for graduating cum laude.
He believed that she was ready for bigger responsibilities in their family company. Of course, Iris had violent and bloody reactions, nearly pushing Heather away. So, Vitto had to intervene and explained to Heather that her sister was going through a lot and that she needed to show patience and understanding.
You can clearly see how balanced his affection is when he acknowledges that Heather also needs medical treatment because of a traumatic event from her past that continues to trigger her insane moments. Heather showed signs of madness when she begged her father not to lock her up in the hospital again. At this point, we didn’t yet know the details of that 'tragic event,' which turned out to be a crime she had committed. But Vitto promised to protect her.
Whenever Heather experiences panic attacks and starts shaking, Vitto is there to calm her down and give her medication. He is the one who helps his daughters find assurance, even in the most challenging moments.
