For some of us, the Filipino language is a casual one, used to talk about the most mundane things, but rarely to proclaim one's deepest feelings, preferring instead to say them in English.

But that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be done. Countless proclamations of love, hurt, and loss have been made in Star Cinema movies, and there’s no perfect time to list them than this month, the Philippines’ official Buwan ng Wika!

Here are our picks for some of the most beautiful lines said on film, in no particular order:

1. John Lloyd Cruz as Popoy in 'One More Chance' (2007)

Despite being beaten down by heartbreak himself, Popoy offers strength to his friend, Chinno (Janus del Prado).
