By a stroke of superstition, happy weddings could easily turn into deadly warnings.
In this 2006 horror film helmed by the Master of Scares, Chito S. Roño, overseas Filipino worker Sandy (Kris Aquino) returns to her hometown with her fiancé, Phil (Wendell Ramos), to stage their wedding. What was supposed to be a joyous celebration gets tainted by a series of tragic deaths involving Sandy’s relatives and guests. Eerily enough, Sandy sees that the people who died appear headless in her wedding photos.
Sandy is then told by a psychic that her wedding has been cursed by sukob, a superstitious belief that bad luck follows a wedding if it takes place within the same year of a family member’s death or another sibling’s wedding. Sandy is puzzled by this information. As far as she knows, those cases don’t apply to her, until she learns about a woman named Diana (Claudine Barretto), whose husband immediately died after their own wedding. As it turns out, Diana’s wedding was also cursed.
