The wait is over — two Filipino comedy icons are finally sharing the big screen! Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto are officially joining forces for the first time in "The Greatest Showdown", an upcoming comedy film directed by Jun Robles Lana.

The film marks an exciting collaboration between Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, M-Zet Productions, and APT Entertainment, and is slated to arrive in cinemas this year.
Beyond bringing together two of Philippine entertainment's biggest names, the project also reunites Vice with Direk Jun for their third film following the acclaimed Metro Manila Film Festival entries, "And the Breadwinner Is..." (2024) and "Call Me Mother" (2025).
"The Greatest Showdown” was officially announced during the #NewMovieAlert event at the Quantum Skyview of Gateway Mall 2 in Cubao, Quezon City on July 5, Sunday.
Before the historic reveal, the crowd was treated to energetic performances by the Baby Dolls of “It’s Showtime”, WRIVE, Bryan Chong, and many more artists, setting the stage for the night's biggest surprise.

The announcement came after days of playful teasing on the lead stars’ respective noontime programs. During the July 3 episode of "It's Showtime", Vice greeted Vic on-air, saying, "Hi, Bossing Vic! I love you!"
Vic later addressed Vice on "Eat Bulaga", saying, "Mag-uusap tayo nang masinsinan," instantly fueling excitement among viewers.
That "masinsinang usapan" finally happened in Cubao as Vice and Vic entered from opposite sides of the stage, before meeting at the center for a warm embrace.
"Ano pang hinihintay natin? Halika, magsalubong na tayo," Vic quipped before they shared a hug that sent the audience into a frenzy.

The excitement only grew as the pair officially confirmed the project together.
Vice led the announcement while Vic playfully echoed her words: "Sa ngayon nagtagpo na kami, at hindi lang una at huling beses n’yo kaming makikita ngayon, dahil mapapanood n’yo kaming magkasama sa isang pelikula!"
Soon after, Direk Jun joined the two onstage and spoke about finally bringing the collaboration to life: "Matutupad na rin ‘yung gusto natin na magsasama silang dalawa sa isang malaki at masayang pelikula!"
Vice and Vic also revealed that "The Greatest Showdown" marks a return to full-blown comedy after both recently explored more dramatic stories in their previous films.
“’Yung huling pelikula ko rin, seryoso rin,” Vic shared. “Kaya ngayon, magpapasaya tayo, magpapatawa tayo ng mga Dabarkads, Madlang People, ng buong Pilipinas!"
Vice echoed the excitement, saying, "Kung naranasan n’yo po manood ng pelikula ko ng drama [nang] dalawang magkasunod na taon, ta’s nagseryoso naman si Bossing Vic — this year, hardcore todo comedy ang gagawin naming dalawa!"
The trio then unveiled the film's official title along with its key art. The artwork features Vice and Vic covered in dirt in what appears to be an all-out brawl, hinting at the chaotic comedy that awaits audiences.

Vice exclaimed as the grand reveal was made: "Isang malalang puksaan ‘to!"
Vice and Vic even gave fans a playful preview of their onscreen banter by recreating the key art live onstage, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.

With two comedy powerhouses, an acclaimed director, and a collaboration that moviegoers have been manifesting for years, "The Greatest Showdown" is already shaping up to be one of the biggest film events of the year.
