Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming time-travel series My Royal Nemesis, set to premiere on May 8.
The drama stars Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun in lead roles.
According to the streaming platform, the series follows a "Joseon-era villain doomed to die opens her eyes in modern-day Seoul — where a ruthless chaebol heir may be her last chance to rewrite her fate."
As per report by SBS Entertainment News and translated by Soompi, Lim Ji-yeon takes on the role of Shin Seo-ri, an aspiring actress whose life takes a dramatic turn after becoming inhabited by the spirit of a feared Joseon-era villainess. Meanwhile, Heo Nam-jun plays Cha Se-gye, a powerful and merciless chaebol heir.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the K-Dramas intriguing premise, opening with the Joseon-era villain awakening in present-day Seoul. Confused and disoriented, she asks, "I've lost my way and was cast into this new world. Is this my divine punishment?”
Determined to survive, she declares, "In this life, I will survive by any means," setting the stage for her unexpected encounter with Se-gye.
Fans online were quick to react to the trailer.

In a recent interview with Elle Korea, as translated by Soompi, Ji-yeon shared how she approached her dual-natured role.
“Rather than separating the two, I approached it as a single character undergoing transformation," she relayed. “As love enters her life, the character becomes much more three-dimensional.”
Nam-jun also offered insight into his character’s relationship with Seo-ri, explaining that her sincerity plays a key role in breaking down Se-gye’s guarded nature.
“She feels unfamiliar because she approaches Se Gye without calculation, and that unfamiliarity ultimately makes him open his heart," he said.
The two stars also reflected on their onscreen team-up for the show, with Ji-yeon noting, “We discussed the script a lot and built each scene together."
