Robi Domingo, Darren Espanto bid farewell to iWant ASAP: 'From the stage lights to the screens in your homes, what a journey it’s been'

Kapamilya stars Robi Domingo and Darren Espanto took to social media to bid farewell to iWant ASAP as it officially signed off after almost eight years.

In an Instagram post, Robi looked back at his journey with the show since its early days as ASAP Chillout, through its evolution as iWant ASAP.

“From the stage lights to the screens in your homes, what a journey it’s been. 🫢🏼 Today, we close a chapter that has been more than just a show to me… it’s been family, growth, and a constant reminder of what it means to be Kapamilya,” Robi said.

 

He added, “From the early days of ASAP Chillout to what we became today, I’ve witnessed firsthand how love for music and each other can evolve, adapt, and endure.”

Alongside throwback photos featuring co-hosts Donny Pangilinan, Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Darren, and Jeremy G, Robi expressed gratitude to the team behind the show.

“To everyone behind the scenes, my fellow hosts, artists, and most especially to our viewers… thank you for letting us be part of your Sundays,” he expressed.

 

Ending his message, Robi emphasized on the family he made with the iWant ASAP team: “This may be the end of this chapter, but the heart of being Kapamilya will always live on. Maraming salamat. Hanggang sa muli. This has been iWANT ASAP. β€οΈπŸ’šπŸ’™.”

Donny replied, “PAMILYA ALWAYS.”

Edward added, “Love this. Thanks Kuya Robi. One of the things I’m proudest of in my career.”

Darren, on his end, reposted the post as he wrote in the caption: “Paalam muna sandali, iWant ASAP. I learned so much from this show, not just about hosting, but also about teamwork, dedication and commitment. To everyone who made this show possible, maraming salamat po.”

 

Meanwhile, producer Olivia Zarate also paid tribute to the show, reflecting on its long-running journey from way back in 2010.

“What we created together was more than a show—it was a journey of heart and passion. I am proud beyond measure of your dedication. You will always have a special place in my heart ❀️❀️❀️ Thank you everyone sa lahat naging parte ng #IWANTASAP,” she wrote along with a behind the scene videos from the previous iWant ASAP airings.

 

She added: “To all the fans na nakatutok every Sunday: thank you for letting us into your homes and hearts until the very last episode. We love you guys! 😍😍 I WANT ASAP Signing OFF! #Forevergrateful”

She also shared photos from the previous and new gen iWant ASAP hosts, thanking them for doing their best as the show’s host.

She then looked back on the journey of the ASAP online interactive show in a series of Instagram stories.

“2010 sa isang sulok ng abscbn nabuo ang 1st online show ASAP CHILLOUT this show was intended as extension of ASAP as a space where young artists could develop their hosting, performing, and live interaction skills before moving to the main stage,” she said.

 

 

“In 2018 relaunch as iWant ASAP Hosted by @iamrobidomingo @donny @maymay @edward_barber.”

 

“During pandemic and ABSCBN Shutdown specifically maintained its role as the ’onlinekada’, giving fans a space to chat with their favorite stars in real-time during the livestream, which was a vital source of connection for many during lockdowns. @darrenespanto was added as a one of the host na maski magka-iba ang timezone pati si MayMay tuloy pa din ang pagbibigay ng saya sa online viewers.”

 

“After pandemic nakabalik ulit ng studio with a new set of hosts Great run and Thank you SQUADMATES!!!! Always grateful and Proud of this show at sa lahat ng hosts na at guests artists dumaan dito #asapchillout #IWANTASAP #intheserviceofthefilipinoworldwide,” she recalled.

 

 

iWant ASAP is the online counterpart of ASAP and became known for its mix of performances, behind-the-scenes content, and interactive livestreams while introducing Kapamilya new generation of artists.
