MANILA -- Ron Martin expressed his gratitude as his character bid farewall to "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" last week.

In an inteview released by CCM Film Productions, Ron thanked his brother Coco Martin, the show's lead star, director and producer, for giving him the chance to be part of the hit action-drama series.

(Kuya, thank you so, so much for giving me the opportunity to show people that I can do it. That I can fight the challenges of life. This is not just in 'Batang Quiapo,' but in real life as well.)

(It’s as if you gave me a new life that I can proudly show to everyone.)

Ron also thanked his directors for giving him the time and guidance he needed to play Santino, the brother of Tanggol.

(To all the supporters of Santino, thank you very much for the love you’ve shown for my character, Santino. Whenever I’m outside, most of the time people usually call me Santino. I’ve become known through my character Santino, who is humble and respectful. Thank you very much to you all, and let us continue to support 'FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.')

In the interview, Ron not only talked about his memorable scenes in the series but also the lessons he learned from the program.

Last week, Ron's character Santino was shot dead by his own father Rigor (John Estrada) after he blocked the bullet meant for Tanggol.

Meanwhile, Coco also expressed his gratitude to viewers who continue to watch "Batang Quiapo" across multiple platforms after the series registered strong TV ratings and online views in the last two weeks of January.

“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” airs weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, ALLTV2, A2Z, iWant, and Kapamilya Online Live.
