James Reid is excited to return to the small screen via the ABS-CBN series "Someone, Someday," which will also be shown on Netflix.
The actor, who rose to fame as half of the JaDine love team with Nadine Lustre, is joined by two other stars who are also making a TV comeback: Kathryn Bernardo and Maja Salvador.
"It's good to be back," said Reid during the press conference for Netflix Philippines' 2026 lineup, which includes "Someone, Someday." "I think it's been 7 years, maybe more, since my first teleserye?"
"I have high hopes for this," he added.
In "Someone, Someday," which explores modern relationships through dating apps, Reid plays the role of Jordan, which he described as "a true best friend."
"He's always there for you, always got your back," he said. "I'm lucky to have someone like that in my life, so I can super relate to this character."
Citing Jordan's love for music, Reid happily shared that "Someone, Someday" gave him the opportunity to showcase his craft.
The actor is also a singer-songwriter who founded the record label Careless in 2017.
"Throughout the show, I actually get to inject a lot of my own music, which I'm very excited for," he said. "I'm also writing one of the songs for the show."

Many fans are looking forward to the fresh pairing of Reid and Bernardo, who both come from popular love teams -- the former's JaDine and the latter's KathNiel with the actress' former boyfriend, Daniel Padilla.
Bernardo admits she is taking her time to warm up in her newest project, which marks a lot of firsts for her.
"This is a comeback project and this is my first time working with ate Maj (Salvador), with our director, and of course James," she said. "Actually until now, it's taking a while to bounce back and work again because my last series was back in 2022, 'Too Good to be True.' That was actually my first project with Netflix. But I wasn't able to experience all of this because of the pandemic."
"Until now I'm still warming up and getting to know the character day by day, and I'm just patient with myself because I want to give myself that time."
Salvador, for her part, said her experience as a mom helped shape her understanding of her character in "Someone, Someday."
"I've played strong characters before but this one is more layered and secretive, which made her more interesting. Mas complex 'yung pag-portray ko sa kanya," she said.
She continued: "I also approached her differently, maybe because my life experience helped me better understand her choices and motivations."
Netflix Philippines has yet to announce the premiere of "Someone, Someday," but the series will be made available on the streaming platform 72 hours before its airing on free TV.
