"Until She Remembers," a film that features a powerhouse cast led by Charo Santos-Concio, Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo and Barbie Forteza, is set to hit cinemas beginning February 25, producers announced Thursday.
Solar Pictures and CreaZion Studios Artists revealed the premiere date alongside a teaser for the film, which is directed by Cannes Best Director winner Brillante Mendoza.
The teaser features Forteza and Santos-Concio caring for Anson Roa, who appears to be ill, with moments that show the three seemingly enjoying each other's company.
It also features voiceovers of the three actresses, who take turns reciting the Pablo Neruda poem "Tonight I Can Write (The Saddest Lines)."
While the trailer does not explicitly reveal the plot, "Until She Remembers" centers on a high school student, played by Forteza, who seeks refuge from her chaotic parents with her grandmother (Santos-Concio) and an old friend (Anson Roa), according to a press release.
In their company, Forteza's character "begins to see life from a distance — both tender and selfless."
The film also stars Angel Aquino, Albert Martinez, Eric Quizon, Vince Rillon, Erlinda Villalobos, Carlitos Sigiuon-Reyna and Perla Bautista.
The project was first revealed in December via an Instagram Stories post by Forteza, drawing attention for its lead stars and direction by Mendoza.
Mendoza is the first Filipino to win best director at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for his 2009 film "Kinatay."
