Kapamilya stars Reign Parani, Dylan Yturralde, Sky Quizon, Jude Hinumdum, and Bong Gonzales expressed their gratitude to viewers who warmly received their inclusive and youth-driven iWant series Love At First Spike.

Following the show’s finale last month, the cast told PUSH ABS-CBN how overwhelmed they were with the love and feedback from fans.

“We’re just really thankful to everyone who made the show possible and to our viewers — talagang tumutok kayo! Salamat. Talagang nakakataba ng puso when people really tell how good the show is, not just our acting, but the entirety of the show, so maraming salamat sa inyo. Punong0-puno lang kami ng gratitude sa mga puso namin and we’re hoping talaga na magkaroon ng season 2,” Sky Quizon said.

He also shared how the cast appreciated fan edits and online support.

“Actually, nakakakilig to be watching mga fan edits mga pinagco-compile nila na mga mentality, ‘yung mga shini-ship nila. So all those, maraming, maraming salamat kasi talagang pati sila dini-disect nila ng maayos per character, and they’re looking forward [to the show],” Sky remarked. “I think with that, we can say naging successful dahil ‘yun ‘yung goal and intention talaga nung show namin, so maraming salamat. “

Sky played the role of Lucien, a member of the men’s high school volleyball team who struggles with whether to continue playing or quit, as his family does not approve of him joining the sport.

For Dylan Yturralde, who played Ethan, the project was especially meaningful as it was his first after Pinoy Big Brother.

“This is my first project after PBB Gen 11 kaya special siya and I’m also lucky to have these amazing people na kasama ko sa first project. Sobrang nase-sepanx kami, sobrang clingy na kami dahil we’ve been working on this project for months, and I hope na magka-season 2. Tulad niyo, we hope na may season 2,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to viewers shipping him with other characters.

“Para sa’kin compliment na nakikita ng ganon kasi syempre, as an actor, parang nagampanan namin ‘yung characters ng maganda. Ang saya lang kasi syempre sinasabi rin sa akin ng mga tao na may chemistry,” Dylan said.

“I’m grateful din na—sobrang bait kasi ng cast na ‘to and sobrang talented so masyadong magaan, magaan kasi mag-trabaho kasama sila kaya grabe mga sepanx namin. Pero happy shipping lang po tayo,” he added.

For Jude Hinumdum (Kidlat) and Bong Gonzales (Hans), it was rewarding to see viewers enjoy their comedic roles.

“Nakakatuwa lang po na mapanood na may mga… hindi ko nga po alam kung maganda o ano ‘yung nadudulot ni kidlat kasi mali-mali na rin ‘yung mga grammar ng mga tao,” Jude expressed.

Bong added, “Natutuwa ako kahit walang boses ‘yung character ko parang nakikita nila ‘yung character ko. Just overwhelming, you know.”

Reign Parani, who portrayed Farrah, felt that the show’s theme of inclusivity was key to its reception.

“Honestly, the first time we read the whole script, we knew na this would channel a lot of things, and one would be inclusivity, kaya I’m so glad na lahat, bawat character, ay nabigyan din ng spotlight and shine of course, everybody deserves that, and everybody deserves to be watched so maraming, maraming salamat po!” she expressed.

Reign also thanked fans for their support even before the series aired.

“Thank you so much, po! I feel like it started sa ASG, where everybody got the chance to see all of us, and I’m so glad that you guys appreciate the hard work that we all put into this. I’m really, really happy for all the appreciation and love coming the way. I hope we can do more for you,” she stated.

With the positive reception, the cast is hopeful for another season.

“I think we all agreed that there’s nothing compared to LAFS talaga, so I feel — let’s duplicate it? Let’s do season 2,” Reign said. “I really trust that once we do season 2, things are gonna skyrocket from there. I hope na tuloy-tuloy na po siya for us.”

All eight episodes of Love At First Spike are streaming exclusively on iWant. The series also stars Emilio Daez, River Joseph, Sean Tristan, Lance Reblando, Rain Celmar, Andi Abaya, and Binsoy Namoca, with seasoned actors Adrian Alandy, Meryll Soriano, Gio Alvarez, and Alwyn Uytingco in supporting roles.
