Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez eturned to America's Got Talent (AGT) stage on Tuesday night (US time) for her first live performance after receiving a golden buzzer earlier during the Auditions round.
For the show's live quarterfinals, Sanchez once again wowed the audience and judges Sofia Vergara, Simon Cowell, Mel B, and Howie Mandel for her powerful rendition of Alex Warren's "Ordinary," while she's eight months pregnant.
Vergara, who gave Sanchez the golden buzzer during the audition, described the performance as "amazing."
"Bravo, Jessica! That was amazing. I know that you have felt that you have been struggling because of the belly and the breathing, and your voice doesn't feel the same. But that was spectacular. And, America is loving you, you are the best," she said.
"I am absolutely blown away. Few seconds ago, before Jessica came out ,I heard that she wasn't feeling so good. And I said, 'Look, honestly, genuine it's your choice whether you want to do this or not.' ... And Jessica said, 'No, I want to do this.' You're a brave, brave person. I'm so happy you did. You have such an amazing tone and not only that you have this amazing -- I call it a glow, a glow about you. People are gonna really like you, I really believe, root for you. And, I'm so happy after all these years on our 20th anniversary you have come back. Thank you," Cowell said.
Mel B said also praised Sanchez's beautiful voice.
"Can I just say to you, you have never sounded better. I swear to God. God as my witness. Brilliant," she said.
"When you hit those big notes, I was worried that this production was gonna turn into a reproduction" Mendel added.
Fans of Sanchez are now waiting if their idol will be given another chance to continue her journey in the show as "AGT" will revealed the results on Thursday (Manila time).
Meanwhile, rapper Micah Palace, who performed an original composition, will advance to the finals after receiving a golden buzzer from Cowell.
In an earlier interview with NBC 7, Sanchez recalled the moment she received the golden buzzer from Vergara for her performance of Benson Boone‘s “Beautiful Things.”
"Oh my gosh! It was really overwhelming in the best way possible. I was just like so excited and so grateful that this was happening. After all these years coming back I get the golden buzzer from Sofia. I mean it was just so great, such a great season of my life right now. To be able to be on stage, on 'America's Got Talent' 20 years later with my baby girl in my belly -- I'm thankful," Sanchez said.
Sanchez, a Chula native, also expressed her gratitude to all the people of San Diego and shared her excitement to represent them.
Sanchez, 29, was part of the hit show's first season, where she made it to the semi-finals.
In 2012, Sanchez also joined the 11th season of "American Idol" where she placed second.
The following year, she released her debut album "Me, You & the Music." She also appeared in the series "Glee."
