As Pinoy Big Brother marks its 20th anniversary, fans are wondering if an All-Star edition is in the works.
In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez for Paano Ba ‘To, PBB Business Unit Head Marcus Vinuya addressed the possibility.
"Sobra kong dream 'yan, sa totoo lang kasi parang for us to not do it, we have 20 years, I think we have almost 500 housemates, so parang ang weird nun na if we don't do it," he remarked.
He revealed that the team behind the long-running reality show has already discussed the idea. "Definitely we have talked about it. Ang naging consensus lang ng team is if we will do it, it has to be really different from what the housemates experienced from before so iyon 'yung iniisip namin ngayon. Paano nga ba?" he relayed.
Marcus added enthusiastically, "I'm all for it."
Reflecting on the show’s longevity, Marcus also discussed how Pinoy Big Brother has sustained its relevance for two decades.
"Siyempre there's that aspect of like because of the team, because we're a family inside. That's a given sa atin. Pero siguro for a show like PBB to work, even in Big Brother exhanges, the ingredient is casting. Parang if you have a good cast then everything will flow," he said.
He emphasized the importance of casting in any reality format, especially for future content creators hoping to produce similar shows.
"So dapat talaga for future content makers of programs such as Big Brother, you really have to devote time on your cast, look for them, and when you find them, you ask yourself sila na nga ba 'yun? Sila na ba 'yung best?" he highlighted.
Marcus went on to share: "Si tita Cory (Vidanes) laging may ganyan sa akin 'yan. Magpre-present kami ng cast sa kanya, ''Yan na 'yun Marcus?' In my head, 'Yes tita Cory, sila na 'yun.' Sa kanya lagi niya kaming pinu-push, 'Is that your best? Is that the best?'
"Kasi nga casting is very crucial sa ganitong klaseng programa because your cast will be the one that people will relate to, magre-react sila kung ano 'yung napaparamdam nung cast dun sa season na 'yun."
