HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series has unveiled new cast members including the actor who will play Harry's rival, Draco Malfoy.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, newly announced cast members include Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley.
Additionally, Sienna Moosah will play as Lavender Brown, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge.
Back in May, HBO announced the lead actors for the show, naming Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
As per previous report by Variety, showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer and director Mark Mylod expressed in a statement their excitement for the audiences to see the magic of the lead cast on the screen.
"After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen," they said.

The previous Harry Potter movie franchise was headlined by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. The first film in the franchise titled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was released in 2001. The film follows the story of a "an orphaned boy [who] enrolls in a school of wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world," as per its IMDb.
According to a report by Deadline, the Harry Potter series will start shooting this year. "This new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years," Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO & Max Content, remarked. He also guaranteed fans that the show will be "a faithful adaptation" to the books.
The Harry Potter series is targeted to be released either 2026 or 2027.
