Arron Villaflor took to social media to express his gratitude to director Jerrold Tarog after having worked with the filmmaker again on the upcoming biopic Quezon.
In the movie, Arron will reprise his role as Joven Hernando, the fictional journalist who serves as the audience's point of view throughout the film in Heneral Luna in 2015 and in Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral in 2018.
"Like I said, words are not enough to describe this person. I am deeply honored to have worked with you since Heneral Luna. Thank you for believing in me and giving me the chance to bring Joven Hernando to life," the actor remarked as he thanked Jerrold.
"I will be forever grateful for the entire journey that led us to success through your projects."
Arron commended the filmmaker's hard work and passion for bringing meaningful stories to the big screen. "I witnessed all the hard work, brilliance, patience, understanding, and strategy you poured into telling meaningful stories for our nation. I salute you, @jtarog 🫡 Mabuhay ka!" he stated.
Produced by TBA Studios, Quezon is a historical biopic on President Manuel Quezon. The film will be headlined by Jericho Rosales.
"I feel so honored to be with this team. Coming to a script like this which is so potent and so entertaining, I feel so lucky and happy," Jericho remarked in a previous press release by the film studio.
He went on: "Here, you will see Quezon as a person. He's not written as a hero. He is cunning, he is charming, he is intelligent. Quezon is such an interesting character to play; there are so many things I can put into the role to build Quezon as a character. That adds to the pressure, but at the same time I am very excited."
Other cast members of the movie include Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, Benjamin Alves as a younger Manuel Quezon, Karylle as Manuel's wife Aurora, Romnick Sarmenta as Sergio Osmeña, JC Santos as Manuel Roxas, and Cris Villanueva as the older version of the fictional character in the movie, Joven Hernando.
Quezon is set to be released in cinemas this 2025.
