MANILA -- ABS-CBN’s primetime drama “Sins of the Father” is down to its final week, and the cast gathered for a finale press conference where they looked back on the project that shaped their year and touched many viewers.
Lead star Gerald Anderson, who plays Samuel Trinidad, admitted feeling a mix of excitement and sadness as the series approaches its conclusion.
“Mixed emotions, very excited ako mapanood 'yung last week. Pag labas ko ng eroplano kagabi, sumalubong sa akin 'yung mga staff sa airport, alam nila na last week na namin. At the same time, nalulungkot ako kasi binigay namin best namin and I will miss playing Samuel because of the social awareness na nabibigay ng show namin,” he said.
For Jessy Mendiola, the project marks a meaningful return to acting after taking time to prioritize her family.
“I really loved the role. Sabi ko nga before, itong role na ’to, I’ve never done before mga umaatikabong action scenes. I’m really proud of what we did,” she said, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Shaina Magdayao reflected on the depth of her character and the journey she experienced throughout filming.
“Complicated. But it was a very beautiful journey naman for me. Lahat naman ang roles na naibibigay sa amin, siyempre pinagtatrabaho naman namin 'yun. And it’s never easy. Pero kasama nung hirap are lessons that you’ll be able to keep kahit natapos na yung show. The bond that we form behind the camera is one of the most important takeaways kasi sa bawat proyekto na ginagawa ko,” she said.
Teasing the much-anticipated finale, Magdayao added: "Well, marami pang dapat abangan... Pero mga last 15 pa 'yung content nung last five days namin. So non-stop action scenes, drama, tension, lahat-lahat na.”
As “Sins of the Father” enters its final stretch, the cast assures viewers that the concluding week will be filled with intense action, emotional confrontations, and meaningful resolutions.
