Zanjoe Marudo’s latest film, “How to Get Away From My Toxic Family“ made history as the first Filipino film to premiere in Colorado.

Following the screening in Colorado, the poignant family drama, written by Ogie Diaz and co-produced with KreativDen, expanded to cinemas Las Vegas, New York, and Honolulu.

“We set out to tell a story that resonates deeply with audiences especially those who know the immense love and sacrifice of OFWs. This film is raw and honest about what happens when those bonds shift from support to pain,” Diaz said in a statement. “We hope it sparks conversations about family, expectations, and the courage to choose one's own happiness, even when it means making difficult choices."

The film follows Arsenio (Marudo), a hardworking overseas Filipino worker (OFW) chef who returns home from Dubai to pursue his dream of opening a restaurant, only to find himself caught in painful family conflicts that blur the line between sacrifice and self-interest.

CEO Tommie Mopia and Global Artists Entertainment joined forces with Oliver Carnay of International Artists PR and Talent Management to lead the film’s US promotional tour.
