MANILA -- The first batch of Kapamilya artists bound for Canada is now en route to bring world-class Filipino entertainment to Vancouver.
"ASAP Vancouver" is set for October 18 at the Pacific Coliseum, with shows at 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Among the stars in the first group were Alexa Ilacad, Belle Mariano, and Robi Domingo -- all of whom expressed their excitement to reconnect with Filipino fans abroad as the country's longest-running Sunday musical variety show celebrates its 30th year.
"I'm so excited. I can't wait. I'm already thinking about landing already," said Ilacad, who is performing in an international ASAP show for the first time. "This is my first time joining ASAP sa isang out-of-the-country trip, so this is gonna be memorable for sure."
Ilacad is looking forward to bringing warmth and hope to overseas Filipinos. "Kasi ang daming nangyayari ngayon. Imagine how it must feel to be so far away from home. Kaya kami nagpupunta sa Canada to let Filipinos feel our solidarity as Kapamilya," she said.
Also joining the first flight was ASAP's sweetheart Belle Mariano, who expressed joy at being part of the concert series for the first time in Vancouver.
"It's my first time going to Vancouver. I'm so happy to be part of this trip," she said.
Belle promised fans that their performances will be at a different level this time around: "Ibang level yung performance. I'm so excited to show it to our community."
Domingo, for his part, is excited to join Mariano, Ilacad, Darren Espanto, and Edward Barber around Vancouver for shoots and rehearsals.
He also stressed the significance of connecting with Kapamilyas abroad: "Definitely, this is a sign of gratitude. We're bringing a piece of this Filipino love over there in Canada."
