Kapamilya stars Robi Domingo and Gela Atayde have nothing but good words for each other as co-hosts on Kapamilya’s newest dance competition show, Time to Dance.

During their media conference on Thursday, January 16, Robi praised Gela for her natural hosting skills.

“It’s something that I have notice at kaunti lang kasi sa mga gustong mag host iyong may ability sa sasabihin ko na mayroon si Gela, I think it's the ability to listen soundly, not just to yourself, not just to your subject but also to everything that’s happening right now,” Robi told PUSH.

Recalling his experience as a former MYX VJ, Robi explained that Gela's talent was something he immediately recognized, despite this being her first hosting project.

“I owe it heavily sa MYX when I was still a VJ. Ayon yung tinuro ng MYX sa amin na kung paano makinig nang mabuti and I think she has what it takes to be a host,” Robi added.

Gela, in turn, expressed her deep respect for Robi and shared how working with him has only strengthened that admiration.

“I wouldn’t be the host I am now without Kuya Robi. Si Kuya Robi po ang kasama ko sa simula ng journey na ito and he will always be close to my heart from the moment we started Time To Dance,” Gela shared.

“Sobrang mataas na ang respeto ko kay Kuya Robi while watching him and mas tumaas pa noong nakasama ko siya as a host on stage,” she added.

Robi, who is known for his chemistry with various co-hosts on different shows, also emphasized the importance of building genuine friendships with his colleagues.

“It’s two things: I love what I do and I listen to my wife,” Robi shared.

He went on to explain that his wife, Maiqui Pineda, plays a key role in helping him navigate any challenges on set.

“Ayon yung dalawang key reasons why this happens especially kunware may nangyari sa set or hindi pagkakaunawaan with someone, I asked, I tell my wife everything and she tell me na process mo muna iyan and then I listen and then I do it and then okay na,” he explained.

Robi also mentioned that he makes a conscious effort to build relationships with everyone he works with, both on and off camera.

“I’ll make an effort not just inside the studio kasi my work is in relationships eh so even outside works, kapag tapos na taping, script reading, I made an effort na ‘Oy labas tayo’ para mas makilala ko iyong tao. I think yung nakikita nila (viewers) sa screen is an aftermath ng kung anong bonding namin,” he shared.

“I feel honored and it’s the same with me. Gusto ko rin sila makatrabaho,” he remarked.

Time to Dance premieres on Saturday, January 18, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
