He hinted that the em dash is “the ultimate red flag” and is a telltale that someone is using AI to write their captions or status.
“Especially to the people that matter,” he added.
Paolo expressed how AI shouldn’t be used in making posters as well, as it paints a different story especially for those who are in the creative industry.
“Don’t use Gemini to make your posters!! This is what it tells us: you were too greedy to hire an actual artist. OR, you're just lazy. I'm saying this because I love you,” he ended.
Mixed reactions were met in the comment section of his post as others agreed to his statement while others questioned him as well. Netizens expressed how AI has helped them navigate social media.

“I’ve always used the “—“ and AI won’t take it away from me,” Quark Henares wrote.
“Gen X girl here. Em dashes were my thing way before ChatGPT was invented,” a friend added.
“For me, it's okay to use ChatGPT to improve our ideas. I mean, we have free will but don't use it to the point where we just let ChatGPT do all the thinking for us. 🙂 What’s funny is seeing people use ChatGPT to win online political arguments but still can’t even verify factual information lol,” another friend expressed.
Several AI applications have been made available for download and have been noticeably been used by several netizens over the past couple of months.
