Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has been named an ambassador for Waves For Water Philippines.
Announcing the partnership on social media, the non-governmental organization reflected on its years of collaboration with Catriona.
"What began with a single mission in Batangas has grown into years of shared advocacy. From disaster response efforts to community stories in Siquijor, every collaboration has strengthened our commitment to bringing clean water access to more Filipinos. Today, our journey with @catriona_gray enters a new chapter," the organization posted on social media.
Waves For Water Philippines also shared that an event was held on June 30 to formally celebrate Gray's appointment as its ambassador.
"On June 30, we celebrated this milestone alongside the friends, partners, and supporters who have helped make all this possible. A special thank you to our @hm Philippines family, whose partnership first brought us together and continues to create waves of impact," they said.
Through its Ambassador Initiative, Waves For Water Philippines hopes to expand its network of advocates and inspire more Filipinos to support its mission of providing clean water.
"As we face an age of water bankruptcy, we believe stories and partnerships can inspire action. Through this Ambassador Initiative, we hope to reach more communities, amplify more voices, and encourage more Filipinos to become advocates for clean water," the organization highlighted.

According to its Facebook page, Waves For Water is a "global humanitarian aid organization implementing clean water solutions in remote communities. W4W started in the Philippines as a response to Super Typhoon Haiyan in 2013 and is now a PCNC-accredited organization."

Catriona has long been involved in humanitarian work. Earlier this year, she continued her advocacy with Smile Train Philippines, where she serves as a global ambassador.
In February, the beauty queen raised ₱442,500 through a birthday fundraiser for Smile Train Philippines, which provides comprehensive cleft care for children and adults.
"This donation will directly benefit the ongoing treatment plans for children and individuals with cleft. This includes surgeries, consultations, orthodontics and speech therapy," she posted back in February.

Smile Train is the "world's largest cleft-focused organization," as per smiletrain.org.
