OPM artist and member of Philippine alternative-rock band, Sleep Alley, Aly Pagaduan has passed away. This was announced through the band’s official social media accounts earlier this week to the surprise of their loyal fans.
Sleep Alley has also announced that they will be closing this chapter of the band to honor their late bandmate.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved bandmate and dear friend, Aly,” the band wrote.
They didn’t disclose Aly’s cause of death and instead paid tribute to her through the lengthy and heartfelt post. It was previously revealed in one of their posts that Sleep Alley was named after the late singer.
“Aly was more than a member of Sleep Alley, she was a part of the heart and soul of this band. Through her music, passion, creativity, and friendship, she touched not only our lives but also the lives of everyone who listened to our songs and supported our journey,” they expressed.
“We will forever cherish the music she shared with us, the memories we created together, and the moments that shaped Sleep Alley into what it became. Her voice, spirit, and artistry will continue to live on through the songs we made and the people she inspired along the way,” they added.
Sleep Alley expressed their gratitude to the people who supported them since they were formed back in 2017. As they close this chapter, they hope that Sleep Alley will be remembered as Aly’s legacy and the journey that the band shared together.
“To everyone who supported Sleep Alley throughout the years, attended our shows, listened to our music, shared our work, and believed in us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support meant the world to us, and we are deeply grateful that you were part of this journey with Aly,” they said.
The remaining band members–– Jude, Kyle and Michael–– bid farewell to Aly and assured the late singer that she will be remembered.
“Thank you, Aly, for the music, the friendship, and the memories. We will carry them with us always,” they ended.
Fans of the band, as well as the netizens, sent their condolences and heartfelt messages in the comment section of their post.
