The mother of Kapuso actress Ashley Rivera has passed away after her battle with cancer. In a series of Instagram Stories, Ashley announced the unfortunate news to her followers and shared a glimpse of her final moments with her mother.
It was earlier this year when Ashley revealed her mom’s battle with the illness.

“No more pain, Ma. May your heart and soul find peace & comfort. I miss you so much, I love you forever,” she wrote.
The Kapuso star shared several photos on her Instagram Stories and expressed how much she’ll be missing her mother. She admitted how she’s still in disbelief now that her mother is gone and maintained how it’s her “worst nightmare, biggest heartbreak, and hardest goodbye”.
“I’m gonna miss holding your hand, Ma,” she shared.
“It hurts so much. What am I gonna do without you?” she continued.
In one of her posts, Ashley showed how her mother was surrounded by her loved ones during her final moments. The Kapuso actress was right beside her mother as she passed.
“I held your hand until your last breath. I didn’t want to let go, but I have to. You’re home now, Mom. I’m lost, but I’ll be okay. I’ll be strong for you, I promise,” she expressed.
Previously, Ashley was able to celebrate Mother’s Day with her mother. She penned a heartwarming message on her Instagram account to celebrate the occasion.
“You are an awesome mom, and the beautiful thing is, you don’t even try — you just naturally are such a great mom. I’ve never met anyone as generous as you. You have always been so generous with your time, love, gifts, words of wisdom and affirmation, and acts of service. Basically, pinerfect mo na lahat ng 5 love languages,” she previously wrote.
“Having you as our mom is the best gift God has ever given us. Thank you for loving us the way you do. You make life sweet and fun at the same time. I can’t wait for you to get stronger so we can travel and make more memories together,” she added.
