Radio and television personality Andi Manzano recalled how she lost her bag during their trip to South Korea on her birthday. In a Facebook post, the celebrity mom shared how she was losing hope until their driver was able to retrieve her missing bag.
Andi’s bag contained her camera which had all the footage of their trip to the East Asian country.
“Lucia had fallen asleep so I was carrying her, Amelia had the water jug and I’d asked Oli to hold the baby bag. We were so focused on getting everyone settled into the stroller for the BTS pop-up that it wasn’t until the taxi pulled away that we all realized… the bag was still inside,” she wrote.
While she was assuring her children that everything was okay, she admitted that she was “already panicking” after forgetting the bag in the taxi that they were riding.
Andi maintained that they’ve been trying to do everything for two days to retrieve the bag but was unable to do so as the taxi driver wasn’t responding. It was then she decided to ask help from the police through another driver who drove them from the airport and Nami Island.
“Before I knew it, his next message was: ‘I’m on my way to the police station.’ He drove an hour just to check a lead, and when it turned out not to be mine, @gp_reyes told me to let it go already and to just enjoy the rest of the trip,” she recalled.
The radio personality expressed how helpful Mr. Yang, a local driver, has been to them as he made sure to exhaust all means possible just to get her bag back. Fortunately for her, the bag was given back as Mr. Yang was able to contact the taxi driver that they previously rode with.
“He didn’t have to do any of that, but he chose to keep working with the police until he tracked him down. I was in tears. How can this man be so nice? He was heaven sent,” she expressed.
“I still can’t believe it. It was a reminder from God that even when things feel completely out of your control… even on days that are supposed to be special, He’s still working behind the scenes in ways you don’t see yet,” she continued.
Andi then shared how it wasn’t the bag being retrieved that touched her the most but rather the effort of Mr. Yang–– a total stranger–– to help her out.
“The bag is back but it’s the selfless heart of a stranger that I’ll remember most. Proof that sometimes “lost” things are only there to show us what really matters. Best birthday gift ever,” she ended.
