Andi Manzano took a trip down memory lane as she paid homage to her roots as an MTV VJ following the news that the music channel will be shutting down in various countries.

Looking back on her journey, Andi remarked that auditioning for MTV Philippines is still vivid in her mind. "I still remember that day I auditioned for the MTV VJ Hunt… I was so nervous. It was always a dream and never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d make it to the Top 12… all the more win and actually become an MTV VJ," she said.

The content creator recounted how nerve-wracking her first hosting stint was, recalling: "My first day hosting the Top 10 countdown, I was shaking so much. We had to memorize and adlib 15 pages. It took me two hours to finish that first shoot."

Andi highlighted the integral role of MTV in shaping her life. "MTV was such a huge part of my life. It opened doors, taught me so much, it let me experience things I never imagined I would like meeting artists and different people, hosting in front of massive crowds and the biggest stadiums and just being part of something that defined a whole generation," she stated.

Beyond anything, Andi stressed that it's the people she met that she would always cherish. "More than anything, it’s the people I’ll never forget. The people behind the scenes who made the whole ride so fun! To Louie who produced our shows along with Brix and Luis, Techie our camera man, Roxy who was always there, Bebe and Georgette, Andrew and so many others," she stated.

Concluding her post, Andi expressed her gratitude to MTV for making her dreams come true. "Thank you @mtvph for the memories and for believing in that shy girl with big dreams. I’ll always carry that time with me," she said.

Celebrity friends and fans online were quick to react to Andi's post.

"Awww nostalgic. We were babies. I remember being so nervous and excited about being an MTV VJ," Anne Curtis commented.

"Grabe naging dream ko din maging VJ," one fan commented.

"My favorite MTV VJ!" another fan wrote.

According to a report by BBC, MTV will be shutting down its five music channels in the UK after December 31 including MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV and MTV Live, after 40 years on air.

Meanwhile, MTV HD, which airs reality series, will remain.

The report also noted that MTV's parent company Paramount is expected to shut down MTV music channels in other countries including France, Brazil, Australia, and Poland.
