Comedian and TV host Vice Ganda has spoken up about what he described as “toxic fans” of Pinoy Big Brother housemates after remarks made during a recent episode of It's Showtime sparked mixed reactions online.
The moment unfolded on March 6 when Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 Big Winners Lella Ford and Caprice Cayetano appeared as guests on the noontime program. Both joined the show’s segment Laro, Laro, Pick, where they played alongside members of the Madlang Players.

During the game’s It’s Giving round, players were asked to identify the popular full name of a singer shown on screen. When it was Caprice’s turn, she reacted with surprise after seeing the image and excitedly exclaimed “Ay, oh my god.”
Taking the moment in humor, Vice jokingly treated Caprice’s reaction as the answer itself, playfully telling her that the response was already correct.
The host quipped, “Ang sagot mo ay ‘Ay, oh my god.’ That is correct. Kesa i-bash ako ng mga follower mo correct ka na lang,” before eventually asking her to give the singer’s name.
The lighthearted banter continued when it was Lella’s turn to answer. Even before she could respond, Vice Ganda jokingly declared her answer correct as well, referencing Lella’s mother, actress-host Karla Estrada.
The host said, “Lella good luck...That is correct. Aawayin ako ni Karla...Ako na ang bahala mag-explain that is correct,” before proceeding with the game.
Clips of the exchange later circulated online, prompting mixed reactions from viewers. Some netizens felt that the joke referencing Caprice’s fans placed the Kapuso Big Winner in an awkward position, while others defended Vice, saying the exchange was typical of the show’s playful humor.
As conversations continued on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Vice Ganda also took to social media and called out what he described as toxic behavior from some fans of Pinoy Big Brother housemates.
“Madami nga talagang toxic na fans ang mga PBB housemates. Mabababa ang functional literacy. Kaya napapabuntong hininga na lang ang mga staff ng show pag guest yang housemates e kasi for sure may mga fantards na konting utot magmamaoy. Imbis na maexcite ang staff nasstress,” Vice Ganda wrote on his X account.
The TV host also responded to a netizen who accused him of showing favoritism toward Lella because of her supposed connections to Lella’s family, including her mother Karla and actor Daniel Padilla. The commenter even claimed that Vice was Lella’s godparent – something the comedian quickly denied.
Reacting to the claim, Vice fired back, writing, “Tulad nito! Kelan ako naging ninang ni Lella??? Di ko nga alam kung nabinyagan na yan e! To naman makagawa lang ng chika. Magbasa basa ka na nga lng ng libro na bata ka para kahit papano maging smart ka. Go start na sa page 1!”
Meanwhile, Caprice’s fan group, Team Caprice Official, released a statement acknowledging the discussion surrounding the segment. The group recognized that the exchange was part of the show’s usual humor, but also noted that some supporters felt uncomfortable about the remark referring to Caprice’s fans.

“First and foremost, we understand that the exchange during the segment was part of the show's usual banter and humor. However, we also understand that some supporters felt uneasy with the remark referencing Caprice's followers, especially given the recent narratives surrounding the fandom,” part of their statement read.
They also emphasized that they do not tolerate negativity toward anyone and apologized for any comments made by individuals claiming to support Caprice.
“At the same time, we would like to make it clear that we do not condone any form of bashing, harassment, or negativity toward anyone. We sincerely apologize if some comments made by individuals claiming to support Caprice may have caused discomfort or misunderstanding. We encourage everyone to engage respectfully at all times,” the statement continued.
During the same episode of It’s Showtime, Vice also took the opportunity to address fans directly, reminding them that while their support for their idols is appreciated, kindness should always come first.
"Sa lahat ng fans, all of you are appreciated. But please don't forget to be kind and human, and peace-loving, di ba? Dapat masaya lang tayo. Suportahan natin ang bawat isa sa masayang pamamaraan, di ba?"
He continued by warning that fans’ behavior can sometimes affect the very artists they are trying to support.
“Huwag ninyo bibigyan ng sakit ng ulo yung mga idols ninyo. Huwag ninyong ipapahiya mga idols niyo sa mga ginagawa niyong kabulastugan, dahil hindi kayo ang napapahiya, sila. Sila ang nahihirapang makisama sa iba pang mga taong makakasalamuha nila.”
"Kailangan silang i-remind na ganyan. Be peace-loving, be kind, just be fun," the TV host maintained.
At the same time, Vice also offered advice to Lella and Caprice as they navigate the entertainment industry following their PBB win. He encouraged them to focus on their goals and not be distracted by outside noise.
"Yung mga mabigat sa kalooban, masakit sa puso at isipan, i-try n'yong isantabi 'yun at huwag kayong madi-distract sa ingay at gulo lalo na't mga bata kayo,” Vice said.
