Kapamilya dancer and actress AC Bonifacio has confirmed that she is now single following her split with actor Harvey Bautista.
In a candid conversation with Edward Barber on the Painfully Human Podcast on March 20, AC reflected on some of the highest and lowest points she has experienced in life, including the lessons she gained from it.
As the discussion unfolded, AC spoke about the role Edward played during a difficult time in her life. What began as a working relationship gradually turned into a trusted friendship, with the actor becoming someone she could openly talk to, especially during moments of heartbreak.
Edward recalled what he described as his first “kuya moment” with AC, when she approached him for advice about a certain guy they did not name.
“You came up and you asked for advice about a specific dude. I remember trying, really thinking about how to give you advice when I have zero experience of my own. That was genuinely my first ever ‘kuya moment.’ I felt protective,” Edward said.
Since then, AC said that she had consistently turned to Edward when it comes to matters of the heart. “I’ve gone to you with every other guy since,” AC maintained.
AC said that there was a point when she chose not to date at all for a year. “I came from a very traumatizing relationship and so I was like, 'I don’t trust any man,’” she recalled while laughing.
It was in the middle of this exchange that AC quietly revealed her current relationship status. Going back to when she was asked if there was a time that she is not dating, she added: “Also...now,” AC said, laughing alongside Edward.
“Is there a time when you are not dating? Hmm...now,” she said, without naming Harvey.
“That is the first time I’m saying that anywhere...You heard here first.”
Edward, while careful in approaching the topic, offered his support and admiration for how AC handled the situation.
“I’m proud of you,” he told her. “Long story short, you are no longer in a relationship. We had a moment where we talked it out on the phone. It was a tough moment for you.”
“Very hard,” AC affirmed.
Recalling that emotional conversation, Edward shared how AC reached out to him during the height of it.
“Just for context, you came and you called me. There's a little tear...cry cry,” he said.
“Yes, I was crying the whole time,” AC admitted.
For Edward, the moment stood out because he saw AC’s growth. “Hands down. I’ve seen you do amazing things. I’ve seen you dance and I’ve seen you perform. It's the proudest moment I’ve ever had with you, not because you were put together. It was because of the maturity of how you handled making your own decisions,” he said.
Both clarified that Edward’s role was simply to listen, allowing AC to navigate her choices on her own. AC, in turn, expressed her appreciation for his presence and honesty.
“I think that’s one of your greatest ‘kuya moment’ also with me too,” she said.
The two eventually decided to pause the conversation, hinting that there was more to share at a later time.
AC and Harvey previously made headlines in April last year, during AC’s stint inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, where she faced intense online criticism. At the time, she was subjected to accusations and even death threats, with Harvey publicly defending her and calling out the extent of the backlash. AC also shared then that Harvey was the first person she contacted after being evicted.
As of now, AC has yet to disclose further details about their breakup.
Amid personal changes, the young star continues to win in life. Just recently, AC revealed that she was followed by the global K-Pop superstar Jungkook on TikTok.
