“My faith has become deeper. At the end of the day kasi when you get the pain that I went through, at the end it’s nothing but God. Because if there’s no God, it has no meaning–– then my daughter died in vain,” he shared.
The Kapuso broadcaster added that he knows he has his faith with him all the time. Apart from learning to rely on his faith, he revealed that he’s been reading some books about grief as well–– giving C.S. Lewis as one of his examples.
“Because I have the Lord, I know there is purpose and you only feel the Lord’s purpose when you’re at the end of your rope. When you’re dying or someone you love passes,” he said.
Kuya Kim admitted that he still has many "what ifs" in his mind. As a grieving parent, he shared how it’s 50% of the things he thinks about each time.
“A part of a grieving parent is 50% missing the child and the next 50% is what if. That’s why it’s hard to lose a child because may what if. True sa parent. May mga ‘what if’ yan. ‘What if I did not say more I love you?’ A parent di ba, ‘What if I did this, she might still be alive,’” he explained.
“Again, at the end of the day, there is the Lord. Mabuti nalang there is the Lord because without the Lord, my gosh mahirap, di mo alam saan ako bubunitin dito. Buti nalang,” he ended.
In a previous interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda, he shared how his grief “comes and goes” as there are days that he’ll be okay and others where he’ll be missing Emman.
“It comes and goes eh–– may mga araw na hindi ako okay, may mga araw na okay ako. Kumbaga, yung grief kasi parang ambush yan. Ngayon, okay ako biglang may maalala ako na ginawa namin ni Emman. Maalala ko yung mukha ni Emman or something that reminds me of Emman and then, it attacks you,” he previously explained.
